Dimming works running on 12V DC with PWM dimmer.
These LED MR16 bulbs work fine in my situation- operating off 12V DC on an off grid solar system (not the usual 12V AC used in houses). I'm also able to dim them using a 12V DC LED dimmer that operates using PWM (pulse width modulation.) Compared to an expensive Phillips 4000K 7 Watt 530 lumenMR16 bulb, these bulbs are a bit warmer in colour and a little bit lower in light output. The lower light output between the two is most noticeable when dimmed (they are wired running in parallel.) There's a significant difference in weight between the two- with the Phillips heavier from being constructed with an external alloy heatsink, whereas these bulbs don't have an external heatsink.

A bit inconsistent. Works with a good variety of ballasts, but either has a bit of flicker, or got hotter than one would expect. When run off AC (usual home E-Ballast downlight installation) they were pretty dim with a bit of flicker but ran pretty cool. Run off DC (RV use) they were flicker free and much brighter (and tested to be drawing rated 6W) but got very hot when running. Ironically after I did the "half power" mod, they no longer flickered on the AC supply ? Thankfully these are "hackable" and when changed from 520mA (6.1W) to 260mA (3W) they barely got warm and are perfect for the kitchen area in a friends caravan. The back of the housing is slightly longer than typical. To mod for half-wattage/longer life: 1. Use a strong suction cup to pull the lens off (no glue thankfully) 2. Remove the resistor marked RS2 "R300" from the board (The further one of two close to the regulator chip) 3. OPTIONAL - Push lens back in (for collimated spot or humid/kitchen use) or just leave off for a wider angle flood (these are safe exposed being only 12V)
