Excellent practical advice. Well illustrated and well written. Vastly than any of the other books that I have seen. Equipment continues to evolve so don't expect reviews of the latest gear, but do expect practical advice.

the illustrations are funny, and all of the tips are very relevant. even the book makes sure you don't take everything as gospel since tele is about finding your flow. would recommend for beginner and experienced tele skiers alike

This book is really well done; there are lots of fun and humorous illustrations and accompanying text with helpful little tele tips. If you are new to telemark skiing (as I am) this is a great little book. If you are already a good telemark skier there are some good tips and advice for you too. This book's illustrations are really fun and explain the text well. This book's tips range from really basic to really hard, from good basic tele form to skiing tele backwards. It's a great quick read, and you don't have to read it in the order given. Another fun aspect of this book is a flow chart which helps you decide which tips you should be working on. A nice read for the drive up to your ski resort. I can't wait to read the authors' book about backcountry skiing.

The tips hints etc really helped me get to the point where I can tele on greens and some blues. They help with goving small hints to focus on. Now it's practice and more hints. Please realize that I ski in the East in CT so ice is an issue and I am an older skier. But Allen and Mike really help me bend those knees and turn.

This book came out a while ago but is still very relevant with today's aggressive equipment. This is not your grandfather's or grandmother's tele book because the techniques explain to not work as well if you are driving 210cm skinny skis with leather boots. This book is excellent and entertaining as it explains how to work the more modern big plastic boots with big skis.

I recently got a job selling time shares over the phone and bought this book to brush up on my telemarketing skills. This book has really helped me make sales! There are lots of clever cartoons and helpful tips. At first, I was a little confused as the authors talk a lot about skiing, and most of the drawings depict skiers doing various things on the snow. Then I realized that this was a metaphor and the whole book clicked! For example, when the authors say "Lean down the hill" they actually mean "assume the sale" - a critical skill for telemarketers. All the references to "Alpine skiers" was also odd, but then I figured out that referred to in-person salespeople, who "have their heel locked down" - i.e. have the advantage of being with the person while making the sale. Very clever! All in all, highly recommended. Shipping was fast and easy.

I haven't read the whole thing, but this book is awesome. I try to look through it before ski trips or seasons and pick on or two tips to work on. Good way to focus on a couple of points. I also felt like it helped me understand how to tele better. My dad is an amazing telemark skiier (I am a terrible all kinds of skiier), and he was the one who originally taught me. However, through no fault of his, I misunderstood some of the basic positioning/weighting/etc, and this really helped me to understand what he was trying to teach me. I highly recommend this, especially if you are just starting.

This book is wonderful in all ways. Very easy to learn from and full of good humour! I come from the county of Telemark, and have been skiing almost since I could walk, but I haven't had the time and opportunity to learn the old Telemark techniques until now (I'm almost 50 years old!). But this book really did it for me. Very good technical instructions, and the drawings are awesome!!

Once I read it was too many to understand but I can read it in repeat by kindle. So easy to read and carry for better tele-skier!

The best book on Telemark has been updated and extended. In fact one of the best ski books in print. Funny, informative, don't look for anatomical correctness, it's the ideas that count.

Excellent ouvrage - bon marché.Les explications, bien que l'ouvrage soit rédigé en anglais, sont très claires et les dessins sont très explicites. J'y ai trouvé des précisions précieuses pour me permettre d'améliorer ma pratique du Télémark, quelques petits exercices proposés apportent par ailleurs une touche ludique pour le perfectionnement.
