Multigroom Series 3000, 15 pieces, MG3770/40

I've been through my fair share of trimmers over the years, each designed for a specific task. But the Philips Norelco Multigroom 3000 Series has completely replaced them all. This thing is an absolute workhorse. The Philips Norelco Multigroom 3000 Series punches way above its price point. I’ve used it for trimming my beard, cleaning up the neckline, and even for some quick touch-ups between haircuts — and it handles it all like a champ. The different attachments snap on easily and give you a ton of versatility without feeling gimmicky. The metal blades are sharp and precise, and after several uses, I haven’t noticed any pulling or dulling. Battery life is also surprisingly solid — I’ve gotten multiple trims out of a single charge. It’s lightweight, easy to clean, and feels well-built for the price. No fancy bells and whistles, just reliable performance where it counts. This is my 3rd or 4th Norelco multigroom trimmer. Sad that they don’t last a little longer, but they aren’t bad in use… At this point in production the charging plug is more proprietary (no longer a barrel plug) and the switch has changed yet again- instead of being smooth on and off or push button (short lived in the last gen, seemed those fail quickly and also weren’t always reliable at turning on) … the new switch is a hard to activate ‘ slide’ which is both low profile and doesn’t feel as nice as the previous generations. *I think someone with arthritis might really hate this new switch* That being said; the trimmer itself continues to have the same food overall functionality. It holds a charge well for a while meaning you can get weeks or even months out of a charge if you simply use it for a 3 min touch up 2 to 3 times a week. The blades on the trimmer head stay sharp, the guards are comfortable and are supplied at useful lengths though again, older folks might have a hard time reading the sizes. I like the short guards and how easily they snap on and off, but the nose trimmer attachment is really nice indeed, because unlike small nose-only trimmers, this electric motor will blast through nose hairs no issue and without snagging. Operation is quiet. I don’t imagine this would wake up a partner if you’re faced with that as an issue. You’ll likely get 2 but maybe up to 5 years out of the trimmer based on my average experience of the past few I’ve bought. I think they should last a bit longer, and go to a more ergonomic switch design (like the one from about 8 or so years ago) but other than that because the actual performance in day to day use is there I just keep buying them.

I wasn't expecting much when I ordered this. I've tried a few things like it over the (many, many) years, and always found a reason to throw it out. I guess the tech has gotten better over the decades. The only negative I can come up with is the lack of ease in putting the attachments on and taking them off. It's not as easy as it looks. Perhaps there's a secret to it. They haven't shared that secret with me. It's not a deal-breaker, but I just thought I should warn you. I bought three or for items like this recently. I'm looking for the perfect one. While the search continues, you'll be pleased with this one. It's not expensive, so give it a try.

Had it for maybe a year (?) or so now. Works great - no issues with charging, i've dropped it and it's durable. Has an eyebrow size, and various others for facial hair. My routine is shave with this maybe once a week, trim back a couple eyebrow hairs every once in a while- so nothing crazy, and it works great for that.

Smaller than full size hair clipper but works great, only small gripe is no charging indicator but for price so what.

Package arrived on time c̄ no damage. 2.5 STARS. 🤷‍♂️ It works fair enough, but the push-up switch to turn it on absolutely sucks! It is so stiff that I have to turn it over and push down to push the square slide button to the “on” position. The nasal hair trimmer is very large- it would work well with chimpanzee's nostrils, but too big for mine! Lol! Luckily I still have my Wahl nasal trimmer that outshines that part of it. It will do for now- but I wouldn't ever but it again.

Shockingly efficient trimmer. It’s incredible how quickly and efficiently this device cuts through a longish beard. It’s able to provide a balanced trim in 1-2 passes without leaving those pesky random long stray hairs. It’s not a replacement for a full on shaving blade, but I purposely want to have that 5 o’clock shadow look. Also helps to avoid ingrown hairs, etc. When I need to be prim and proper, I use my One Blade (amazing product that cuts so close it could pass as a standard Gillette shaving blade) but for most instances this unit gives a great cut. Also comes with a lot of attachments, which I don’t currently use, but are nice to have just in case. Last note - I previously had another trimmer and used it to line up my sideburns before doing a close shave. It was old and the blades were dull and tugged at my skin in a painful way. Don’t know why I kept using it for years past its life, but I just didn’t feel motivated to buy something new. Really glad I got this unit, because it’s a whole different ball game of efficiency and ease.
