Falla catastrófica de controlador. Inviable para flujos de trabajo profesionales.
Compré este Lexar SL500 de 1TB buscando una solución portátil, pero su ingeniería interna compromete cualquier archivo de valor. A un año y medio de uso en un entorno de estudio, con trato cuidadoso y usando cables de alta velocidad, el disco sufrió un fallo catastrófico del controlador. Al conectarlo a la Mac, el indicador LED enciende durante un milisegundo e inmediatamente corta la corriente, volviéndolo inaccesible. No es un problema de formato ni del sistema; es un cortocircuito interno (fallo del PMIC o del puente), un comportamiento bien documentado en foros técnicos por su diseño "Ultra Slim" que sacrifica protección térmica y eléctrica en la placa base por estética. Lexar te cubre con una garantía de 5 años y te repone el disco plástico, pero eso es irrelevante cuando la falla te obliga a enviar material valioso (en mi caso, proyectos y terabytes de material de cámara internacional) directo a la basura porque ellos no ofrecen recuperación de datos. Si haces producción de video, fotografía o código a nivel comercial, no puedes confiar en este hardware. La velocidad de lectura no sirve de nada si la arquitectura eléctrica del disco te deja en blanco de un segundo a otro. Busquen opciones con disipación térmica real y puertos reforzados. No recomiendo este disco bajo ninguna circunstancia profesional.

Lexar 2TB Portable Drive - nowhere near good enough
Does not work like other portable drives I have to unlock it every time with a password - annoying The saved files as icons do not show the image - just a simple graphic - of no use at all Sorry, waste of time - would not buy it again, can it be returned?

Recommended for PC gamers
I got the 4TB version because my 1TB SSD isn't able to keep up with how big PC games are now. I was able to plug it into the USB-C slot at the back of my Windows 11 PC and it connected and worked immediately with no issues. It's small and doesn't take up much room. It hangs in the back and hasn't had any issues with disconnecting after about a month of use. It's very fast and copied large files quickly with no problems. I'm able to run online games like Marvel Rivals off of it and it behaves exactly the same as if I was running off my internal SSD. It's a bit pricey so try to wait for a Prime Day or Black Friday sale if you can. But overall I do recommend this drive for PC gamers who want to install many games without worrying about file size.
