Frustrating to assemble ...
This was such a frustrating product to assemble. The instructions are really badly written - for a start, the number of screws of one type received does not match the number in the instructions. Then, instead of the usual series of simple diagrams and part numbers, you get a few little paragraphs which are had to read and follow. You reach a point about half way through where, having followed the instructions, you get stuck and have to undo part in order to add an extra piece which had not been mentioned before, and finally, one of the screws was not long enough to properly reach the nut it was supposed to screw into. Fortunately, the rest of the frame was sturdy enough that we think you can get away with it.The finish of the product is a bit poor. It is bare wood which has been roughly stained a dark brown colour so it has a matt finish. It needed a layer of lacquer or wax to give it is smoother, more polished finish. In use, the design has a flaw - it is too tall for a toddler to easily climb straight up onto the platform - it needed a small step half way up instead of the rounded bar which is supplied and harder for little ones to use as a boost.

Great for kids
This is a pretty decent step-ladder for anyone, really, but especially for little ones. Good for teaching them to climb up to higher places, and making some counters or rooms just a little bit safer. I didn't find difficult to assemble at all, and it's definitely very sturdy. Can't get better than wood!

Expensive and difficult to install, easy to use.
Putting this stool together and setting it up was a nightmare. I say this as someone who professionally assembles Ikea and furniture. The parts are numbered in the manual, but the parts are not numbered. After understanding which parts were from the picture, it was very difficult to match the installation order and the locations shown. In fact, the place where there was supposed to be a hole in the image was not actually there, so I installed it with my own system. So for an amateur, this installation may be very difficult. But not impossible. As a result, I finished the installation and used it.The product is sturdy and durable. My children can use it easily. Sometimes my wife and I use this as a stepping stone. But considering the materials used, the installation and the fact that it is a bit rough, I think it is an expensive product. I'm giving it 2 stars less due to both the installation and the price.
