Mind when you get the package.My one was fine,but heard that others were in terrible condition!

The quality is perfect for kids - sturdy and robust - but able to take a clash or two. The sound takes me back to my youth as well. For the money I was very happy.

Lightsaber appeared sturdy, my son was super excited with it. Used twice, on second use battling his brother the red retractable bit broke off from the base. Boys are 6 & 7 which seems a perfect age to use this. Sure they could have been more gentle but what is the purpose of a play lightsaber if it can’t withstand normal play? The green one which has a different plastic remained intact but the red one just didn’t cut it.

This green light sabre doesn’t light up. It needs the filler from a blue one to work properly!

8 year old loves this. Extends, lights up, makes a few noises, happy days. Separates in 3-4 pieces and the sabre can be removed. Seems quite robust and certainly much better than a fair ground type toy. Worth the extra few pounds.

My 5-year old grandson is in the throes of Star Wars fever, and really really really wanted a lightsaber. I ordered one, and then thought "What fun is it to be the only one with a lightsaber?" So I bought him a second one so he could have lightsaber duels. It was a good Idea. He has had great playtime with his also 5-year-old cousin, and his 9-year-old brother. I recently received a photo of the 9-year-old gently playing a lightsaber duel with their 14-month-old sister, who held up her saber all by herself. Most of the reviewers seemed happy but a few reported broken sabers early on, so when the lightsabers were opened, I reminded the kids that in the movie, lightsabers are light beams and can't really be broken, but for children, lightsabers are plastic, and can be broken, so they can't actually smash them together. They seemed understanding of that, and here it is almost 5 months later, and the toys are still in good shape. I loved all the sound and light effects. and that the pieces are interchangeable between sabers.

Good original toy

The other versions of this lightsaber are solid and can be used to hit others. However this one is sword shaped not round, it’s very flimsy at the end, it bent immediately. Go with the other rounded versions if your kids want to actually use this.
