Get rid of algae in bird bath - copper disc
PERRRRRFECT!I bought my first bird 🐦 🦜 bath that I ALWAYS wanted (I'll review that in a moment) - I didn't know I needed something to keep the algae away! I had no idea that this would even happen, it's not something I thought of before even after changing the water every 2 days!So I "Googled" how to get rid of algae in bird baths and this is what almost everyone said - a copper disc so I got one, and lemme tell ya IT WORKS GREAT! I was kinda surprised it worked actually. But I'm glad the remedy wasn't an expensive one. There were some other suggestions to rid algae - I stuck with the copper disc 😊

It works!
Why did you pick this product vs others?:The attached picture are of 2 exact feeders. They are the same size and in the same area (next to each other) in the garden. They both get cleaned at the same time/treated the same way. They were purchased and set up at the same time. The bowl on the right has had the copper disc in it this year vs the bowl on the left that didnt. This is directly after cleaning. Noticeable difference, imo and I will be ordering a 2nd for the other bowl.

It works
It has been five days and the water is still crystal clear. Birds are drinking the water and bathing in it. Makes me so happy! Glad I bought this product.

It works!!
I bought this about 5 months ago for my birdbath, hoping it would help with the algae. It works!! There is still dirt and bird poop in the birdbath, but there is no icky green algae.

Good at controlling growth
I was skeptical but it worked. It survived through a week of 80 to 90 degrees without the growth I normally see. I refresh the water regularly and scrub once a week. Without the disk, I was seeing growth that I had to neutralize with vinegar constantly, scrub, and replace. I am pretty amazed. Imagine the picture with dark blooms of yuck. It's been 5 days in heat simply rinsing and replenishing. I will post an update once we hit continual 100 degree temps.

Much easier to keep the bird bath clean.
Combined with a bird bath water wiggler, this product is keeping the water clearer for a longer period of time. In the past I would need to empty, clean and refill the bird bath weekly. Depending on the weather I now have to maintain the bath every 2-3 weeks. The birds and cats use the bath more frequently for cleaning and drinking. I now must add 1-2 gallons of water daily. The bird attraction has also kept the flying insects at a minimum. It makes it easier to use the yard and cook outdoors.

Maybe slows the algae but doesn’t stop it
I have a nice concrete pedestal bird bath with an embedded pebble texture that is a real mess and impossible to keep clean in the summer. I saw this copper plate and the reviews all sounded good so I gave it a try. I first gave the bird bath a good scrub and bleached it to make sure there was no live algae left. Put the disk in and filled it with clean water. Over the first week I was amazed to see that the interior of the bird bath got cleaner looking each day. I really expected to see some algae but there has been zero algae growth and it’s in direct sunlight almost all day. This works great! Update: after a few weeks I’m reducing my rating to 3 stars. The reason is that the bird bath is still growing algae. Maybe not as fast as it did before I placed the disk. Have to say I’m disappointed since I even moved the bird bath into the shade whereas it was in full sun before. My recommendation is to just throw a handful of pennies in the bird bath. In fact that is what I did for another one I have.

Keeps your birdbath clean
This little disk keeps slime out of your birdbath. This is the first year I have tried this and it works well.
