This locks in my phone perfectly. I have it holding my phone at the bottom so my cooler could be attached above it, in the middle. It holds steadly over rough roads all the time. The only complaint is that you need 2 hands to add or remove your phone.

Only thing I'd *maybe* prefer would be a magnet to hold the phone, but this works well as it is.Attaching to the vent is really nice especially when I am doing something like door dash where my phone is at risk of over-heating.The ability to easily remove it is also helpful as I'm constantly in/out of the car.

We left our old phone mount in the last car we rented so we needed a new one and found this one - it works great! I like that it's got a very compact build - pretty minimal but it does what it needs to do. Definitely easy to throw into a suitcase.
