Hello. I own a 2007 BMW 335i, with over 189,000 miles on it. My car was losing oil and BMW recommended that I do a valve guides seal replacement at a cost of $6262.39. At that time my car was getting about 300 miles or less before I had to top it off with another quart of oil. Since I started adding Oil Saver, I am now averaging 800 miles before I have to top it off. It works by making the rubber pliable again so that it forms a better seal. Not a permanent fix, but worth every penny. Add it when you add a quart of oil, or get an oil change. Hope this helps.

The product is designed to penetrate the seals and cause the material to expand, thereby stopping the leaks. I suspect its the same stuff used in high mileage oil, just in higher concentration. It did not stop my oil leak.

Q: Does it have to be added every oil change?

No, not at every oil change, but every 18000-20000 miles to guarantee to keep sealing.

Q: How much is needed for 6 cyl 3.0 liter?

One can will treat up to 6L of oil, so it depends on how much oil your crankcase holds.
