Family Guy - Season 3 [DVD] [1999]

This season is amazing, like all the others. Seth MacFarlane is a complete genius, i love this way this show takes the mick out of every day things, people, all kinds of stuff - and slaps them all together into a very witty and well animated cartoon. some people are very shallow and don't understand the humor, usually boring unimaginative people. if you have a sensor of humor and you want to be entertained, this is definitely worth watching. if your thinking about buying it........ buy it!

There is no need to hang around and try persuade you purchase this wonderful DVD. Just go click and get it. This is a great mix of the Simpsons, King of the Hill with a touch of South Park rolled into one. Peter is just funny....stupid like Homer but more accute..if that makes sense. Louis is a great wife and even better supporting act of her hubby Peter. Chris is the son who has his moments and Meg is the daughter and sadly the poorer charcter (like Lisa in the Simpsons). There is a love/hate relationship shared between Brian the dog and Stweie the baby. These two are probably the best charcters of all with their adult comedy making every second of this DVD a joy. Sit back and get ready for a rib-tickling ride...with hilarious flashbacks and fantastic stories. Fox needs to wake up and make another series....and be quick about it. Best moment: Has to be little Stewie picking up his toy phone and ordering: "Operator! Get me the Pentagon".

I have to admit, after my borderline obsession with the first two seasons of this classic animated comedy (you may argue 'classic', but in my eyes, this will definitely be one), I couldn't really see how a third season could follow suit. However, I was to be blown over by how much more it had matured (in an immature way of course!) as a comedy. It has an incredible number of episodes on there, all as strong as each other. You never feel you want to skip episodes on this DVD either, as I find I often do with other seasons of comedy. It is far riskier than the other 2 seasons and I feel it would be amazingly popular if they aired it on Channel 4 instead of South Park. The package as a whole is great - you have three disks which come, for the first time, in a box. It may seem a shame there were no special features or limited edition box set gimmicks, but the comedy itself makes up for all of that and truly makes you realise it doesn't need all the frills to make it what it is. My only sadness is that more people will start latching on to Family Guy as it is all too late, with no more seasons being made. That in itself is a fantastic excuse to buy this DVD box set - it's side splittingly funny, inexpensive and most importantly really great to share with people that have never even heard of it before. So far, a friend of mine has created 22 new Family Guy fans. I am just one of them.

Good DVD, well worth the purchase for anyone to laugh at and enjoy and certainly perfect for a seasoned fan of the show :)

If you've seen Family Guy on TV, *buy this DVD*: Sky have made numerous cuts to enable it to fit into the same (kiddy) slot as the Simpsons, but this show is funnier, darker and definitely not for the kids. If you like the less obvious swipes at popular culture, current affairs and modern-day life that the Simpsons once did so well but think South Park (though often funny) can be a bit too obvious with its jokes, then Family guy is the comedy for you. Yes, on first glance it appears very derivative but the humour is original. Stewie Griffin's lines are quotable ad nauseam and although I find some of the references a bit obscure, it doesn't take much to find out their source. Source material for the jokes include everything from Battlestar Galactica through Pac Man to Peanuts (with an impliation that Marcie and Patty are lesbian lovers). Classic!

I actually decided to order this DVD Box, because other people encouraged me to do so. I had never seen an episode of 'Family Guy' before, so this really was a blind purchase for me. And man.. Im so glad I did!! This is easily amongst the greatest comedy series I have ever seen. The dialogues are brilliant, the characters are unforgettable, and the show's just unbelievably funny. I can't believe I missed out on this show. I've already ordered myself seasons 1&2 as well. Best spent money ever!! P.s. The best episode here is 'To Live And Die In Dixie'. It's classic, but so are the other episodes.

Ladies and gentlemen dim your lights, close the curtians and buy pletty of stacks because if you buy this you will NOT be leaving your living room for days. This is one of the best Tv series ever and now it is back for the third and most hilliarious series ever! Family guy season 3 is the best buy i have made all year and is so funny you will watch it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and well you get the point. BUY IT NOW OR I WILL DESTROY YOU!!!!!!!!!!

Family Guy nimmt das Simpsons Konzept auf und verbessert es um ein vielfaches. Auf Englisch absolut genial, aber auf Deutsch leider ein totaler Reinfall. Wenn man die Serie auf Pro7 einmal gesehen hat, weiß man dass man sich mit der Deutschen Synchronisation leider keine Mühe gegeben hat. So verliert die Serie ihren Witz, der von den genialen Sprüchen und den Stimmen lebt (viele davon hat Seth MacFarlane, der Erfinder von Family Guy, selbst gesprochen). Mit der 3ten und leider letzten Season (dazu gleich mehr) erhält die Serie nun endlich auch eine würdige DVD. Leider gibt es immer noch keine Extras dafür aber wurde die Bildqualität perfektioniert und der leidige Treppeneffekt (auf Season 1+2 leider vorhanden) endlich entfernt. Das es keine Extras gibt liegt leider daran, dass es die Fuzzydoor Productions nicht mehr gibt, die ganze Geschichte ist etwas verrückt aber der amerikanische Sender Fox hat Family Guy mit ihrer Sendepolitik leider ins Abseits gedrängt. Es war ein ständiges Katz und Maus Spiel, zuerst war Family Guy in den Staaten sehr erfolgreich da es einen guten Sendeplatz hatte dann schob man es auf Samstag 17 Uhr (als würde jemand um die Uhrzeit Samstags Fernseher schauen). Danach wurde es abgesetzt um darauf mit Season 2 + 3 die gleiche Prozedur wieder durch zumachen. Nach Season 3 schloss die Produktionsfirma endgültig und obwohl es sich Fox dann, nun zum 3.ten Mal, anders überlegt hatte und eine 4.rte Season wollte war es dann zu spät, und so geht uns den KUNDEN eine hervorragende und brillante Serie leider abhanden. Mein Fazit: Auf Englisch ein absolutes Must-have, wer Simpsons mag liebt Family Guy. Bleibt zu hoffen das uns Seth MacFarlane mit einer anderen Serie vielleicht wieder beehrt.

wie in der Produktbeschreibung geschrieben sind es halt Folgen,die man schon irgendwann gesehen hat. Mit Ausnahme der Weihnachtfolge ( ca. 46 min ) . Wer also die Session 1-10 besitzt und gerne 20 Euro für die X-MAS Folge ausgeben möchte,darf dies natürlich tun. Keine Ahnung was sich die Produzenten bei dieser Ausgabe gedacht haben? Das Zuatzmaterial ist auf Englisch mit UT..... Ich gebe der Weihnachtsfolge 5 Sterne und dem Rest 1 Stern.
