Nice range boost
Ive been using a bluetooth dongle for a while now and having all kinds of signal issues even within an 11 x 14 room and decided I needed a better solution. This instantly worked better and so far no drop outs in that room and the signal is much more stable. Good deal for sure.

If you have a laptop then swapping out the wireless card will be harder - you have to get the case open so you can see the motherboard (and that's something that's often quite hard nowadays). Once you do have it open, then swapping it out is typically pretty easy.Very gently pop the antenna leads off the existing card. Then unscrew the screw on the edge holding it down. The card should then either slide out or pop up a bit on one side, and you can pull it out.Reverse the steps to install - slide the new card in at an angle, press down flat and attach the screw, and then gently attach the antenna leads. If you have an older computer it may use a larger type of antenna connection (these are the tiny new kind) but you can buy adapters to those (typically this card will attach to the adapter and then that slides in the motherboard slot). It really depends on your laptop type though. For a desktop:Find the wifi card slot on your motherboard. If you have an existing one, remove it with the same steps as the laptop one. If the slot is empty, then slide this in at an angle until it's all the way in the slot, then press it back against the motherboard (it should line up with a screw slot). This does have the external antenna for an open PC card slot - unscrew the retaining nut on the antenna lead and put it through the metal PC card cover, then tighten the retaining nut. You should then be able to screw on the plastic antenna on the outside of your case. On the inside, you can use the ends of the leads to attach to the card just like in a laptop (the wires aren't long but should be long enough, so make sure you measure from your slot opening where you want the antenna to the card slot). You don't technically need the antenna (particularly the external one) but your signal strength will suffer quite a bit.Note that this card supports the latest Wifi6E. It's tri-band (instead of just 2.4ghz and 5ghz networks, it can also use 6ghz ones - though these are different from the cell bands called 4g 5g, etc). Most routers and modems don't have 6E or the 6ghz band yet, so make sure yours does before you get this (otherwise you'll only be able to use the same 2.4 and/or 5 that your other hardware has - you need it on the device and your internet source to use it).
