Trigun Maximum Deluxe Edition Volume 2

I've been attempting to collect Trigun and Trigun Maximum for the better part of five years as a gift to my childhood self who couldn't afford them and never got the chance to experience the story outside of the original anime series.The manga is without a doubt the superior way to experience the Planet Gunsmoke--but those old manga are superhero to come by especially in any decent sort of condition. To make matters worse the panel size often leads to confusing soupy messes of action in the original format.This deluxe edition solves all those issues, the increased size makes the more complex art much more legible without sacrificing image quality. The binding is superb and pleasing.

Book is beautiful and shipping was fast

I've been purchasing these volumes as a fan. The imagery has been crisp and I appreciate seeing the images in a good format.I have been disappointed to see that the translation has mostly been a carbon copy of the original. I was hopeful that the constant delays for release was due to re/new translation work, but that does not seem to be the case. There have been much better fan translations that pick up on the nuances of the Japanese language (and meaning) more deftly, but instead this version (like the last) tends to bludgeon some of the written pieces.If you love Trigun, please don't let this dissuade you! The print is fantastic, the overall translation is fine for reading, and I know how hard this series was to come by until recently. Just be aware that there are better, more nuanced translations out there than what Dark Horse has provided.
