This is a reasonably good bit of kit. I was pleasantly surprised playing 40 year old tapes ! Sound quality was to be expected considering age of tapes and obviously standard of recordings donkeys ago. Build quality seems pretty good, nearly all metal and chunky feeling, buttons and volume dial nice big size. Rechargable batteries last several tapes. It's also possible to run it through an amp via earphone to Aux socket. Hard to find cassette players now so is an alternative in the wilderness !Only negatives are no switching for metal/chrome tapes, so sound a bit "tinny". The shape could have been a bit more "rounded" at edges. A touch pricey but overall I am really pleased with this pseudo "walkman"

I've bought and restored several legacy players and really enjoy them but feel almost guilty using them? Here's a real opportunity to play your tapes properly without fear of damaging anything (too) valuable and it does this very well! - Even tapes I know are very difficult to drive / got meshed in the car 20/30 years ago. This player sounds very good despite lacking bass boost and dolby (who used dolby for playback anyway?). My only slight criticism would be volume. I'm running in a set of Fidelio's atm and could do with a bit more juice. However, i'm old and deaf so ignore if your hearing is good!!
