Laughed and laughed and laughed
I'm Jewish. My boyfriend isn't. So I thought this book would be an ideal way for him to understand me a little better. Me and my myriad neuroses. We took it on holiday with us and laughed and laughed and laughed. "I understand you a lot better now," he said by the end of it. If you're Jewish or not, or know someone who is or are friends with someone who is, do buy this book. You will love it. It's one of the funniest books I've ever read. My favourite line is about how most Jewish ceremonies are centred on food and our enemies trying to eliminate us: "They tried to kill us. They failed. Let's eat." BUY THIS BOOK!!!

Too True!
Mine Gott, I can't tell you how much in this book is so true! It's stereotypical, for sure, but if you grew up in a seriously traditional Jewish family and you've kept your sense of humour (mazel-tov, to you by the way!) you'll laugh until you plotz at so many truthfull funny nougats. I bought a copy some years back because it cracked me up so much, and every so often I dig it out. It still gives me the spilches!

Appalling drivel
What a massive disappointment. With such a rich (Jewish) comedic treasure trove, the author has managed to produce the most boring and unfunny book I have ever seen in a long time. Written my a Jew who married out..she sticks two fingers up at Judaism and then thinks she's qualified to write about it.Chucked my copy in the bin, which is better than the tome deserved.

Not worth the long wait.
Very American book, struggled with some of the references. Funny in places very stereotypical
