Best way to add a tier to the world's best gigging keyboard stand
The 18880 stand is fantastic, if expensive. This item is the best way to add a tier. The 18881 is a tad cheaper and smaller, but the holes in the top of the 18882 not only allow adding another tier, if they're on top they allow adding a (homemade) ipad/laptop stand, music reset, or mic boom. The 18882 tier can be quite close to the tier below it. I'll use mine with a Nord Electro over a Yamaha CP4, with barely room to get my fingers between the Nord and CP4. The CP4's controls are all close to the keyboard so a snug tier works well. On my previous rig with 18881 I had to drill holes in the 18881 to get them that close. I suspect K&M has improved the design slightly. You can leave the tiers on the stand and collapse the stand, for a VERY quick setup/teardown, with a pretty compact and very light carry.

Light, but Strong!
When I first purchased this and the accompanying stand, I was struck by how lightweight it is. After a dozen gigs or so I'm happy to report that it's strong, stable, and can withstand load-ins and a heavy-handed keyboard player.

Light work only
The brackets are made of aluminium, which is very light. For them to work safely for me, I had to reinforce them with additional metal brackets. Also when you extend the arms, the extended arms are lower than the supporting arms, so I had to put a rubber foot underneath the extended arm, to support the very light keyboard it was supporting. I can`t recommend this product.
