These are 2 individual pieces of glass inside a relatively hard plastic frame. Nice quality. The frame was to thick to fit in the mount on my Lincoln Viking 3350 helmet, so I trimmed the outside edge flush with the glass and now it fits snuggly.

Great quality for the low price tag. The glass is clear and doesn't scratch like the plastic magnifiers and comes in a nice storage case. As stated in some of the other reviews, the lens is thicker than the plastic ones due to the plastic surround that holds the lens. I simply trimmed the backside down with a utility knife (carefully because it is glass) and it fits perfectly in my cheap Kobalt helmet and hold its position. Will buy again if needed, but I think these will last a long time.

Clear and well make

What a difference these make for my eyes. I was having a terrible time focusing on my work due to my astigmatism. The fit was a little tight in my Hobart inventor helmet but I got it in. i like that these are high quality glass, not plastic. I'm amazed at how well I can see now. Very happy with my purchase.

I like the fact that I can clearly see what I'm welding now. These lenses work well and they fit perfectly in my auto darkening helmet.

The optics seem very good with these glass lenses, much better than the plastic ones. However they are not designed to fit any of my Miller helmets or several other brands I looked at belonging to students in a welding class I am in. Trying to force them in as manufactured would likely break the helmet or adapter. However, if you are handy with a Dremel you can make them work by sanding down the edges where they slide into the helmet or adapter. You have to remove a lot of material and the glass is barely visible on mine after sanding. The fit after sanding is still plenty tight and I removed about 0.070". If you are willing to go through the sanding and fitting process, like I said at the beginning of the review, the optics are superior to the plastic lenses and very clear. Being glass, they are also less likely to scratch. See photos for additional detail.

First time I have tried these in my welding helmet! Worked great, better than trying to wear readers underneath my helmet for close up welding. Best thing I have tried for dealing with using reading glasses to see while welding with a stick welder. I would highly recommend these if you are struggling with eye glasses while welding. Of note be sure to check the dimensions of your particular welding helmets view window and lens retention device(Spring / latch). As some of the different lenses offered are of different thickness. I had to slightly modify my lens holder/retention spring to accommodate these lens inserts to fit correctly and stay in place. I now have 2x welding helmets outfitted with these for stick welding and they both work great.Happy customer

I'm not so young and my eyes aren't what they used to be. These are a nice step up in clarity for me.
