Irritrol Rain Dial RD600-INT-R 6 Station Indoor Irrigation Controller

Q: Can I take the controls and put it into my older box?

I replaced an older, malfunctioning Irritrol Rain Dial 6 box with this new one, and it works great. The number of stations needs to be consistent, as I have no experience with another control box. I had my gardener replace the box, but probably could have done it myself.

Q: What is different between indoor and outdoor?

The outdoor model has a locking mechanism and the 24 volt transformer is mounted inside the controller enclosure making it a few inches wider than the indoor model. Outdoor models are typically hard-wired to 120 volt source, but can be wired to a "pig tail"(garbage disposal cord?) inside a junction box of some sort. The indoor model has a plug-in style transformer not rated for outdoor use.

Very funny. I also live in AZ (Tempe), and sometimes we forgot to close the door, but never had your problem, it must be a joke.

Q: Zone card replacement?

I know of no "zone card" this is a complete replacement of a 6 zone unit.
