Carhartt Classic Adjustable Sling Bag, Durable, 600-Denier Water Resistant Hip Pack

Very well made bag and absolutely worth the money. I use this as my dog walking pack when we are just going on short walks around the neighborhood. It holds everything I could need and keeps it all organized! In the very front Velcro pocket I keep a pocket knife, just in case it’s my day to mauled. The middle pocket is small and padded, great for a phone and a house key. I also keep a small pill case in there with Benadryl doses in case of bee stings. In the big pocket I’ve got a water bottle, collapsable bowl, spare leash, and some first aid stuff like tweezers for burs, bandaids and moleskin for me, extra poop bags, and a toy. Hanging off of the bag I have pet corrector in a holder and some hand sanitizer. It will definitely hold a good bit. It zips well, materials are solid, and I think it’ll last me a few years. I’ll update with any issues.

I’ve been very happy with this Carhartt sling bag. The material feels tough and well made, just what you’d expect from Carhartt. Bought this for my son and he absolutely loves it — so much so that he's already ordered it twice! That says it all really. He uses it daily for his construction business and it holds up perfectly. Carhartt is a favorite of mine, any item at all. This sling bag is super durable staying in line with Carhartt quality. The color is very nice. The bottom of the main compartment is flat and not a V shape, so this item holds alot for its size. The straps are adjustable. There is also a small carrying handle on the top. Perfect for hands free, travel, or every day use. I ordered two of them in different colors! The size is perfect with large storage capacity.

Honestly didn't expect to fall this hard for a $25 bag. Bought it with a European vacation in mind but it's been on my hip every single day since it arrived — phone, doggie bags, a ball for fetch, you name it. This thing just works. Size is perfect for me. Not too bulky, not too small. Fits my iPhone 17 Pro no problem and still has room for everything else I need on a walk. Can't speak to full travel EDC yet since the trip is still coming up, but based on how it handles daily life I'm not worried at all. The fabric is worth mentioning — it's not the exact same canvas-heavy material you'd expect from typical Carhartt gear, but honestly that's the right call for a hip pack. It's lighter and more appropriate for what this bag is trying to be. Still feels well made and durable. If I'm nitpicking, a little padding or one extra pocket would push this to perfect. But at $33 I'm really not complaining. Carhartt knocked this one out of the park. Europe trip report to follow.

So as part of the ongoing saga to find the best waist pack, I purchased this one from Carhartt. The quality overall you really can’t beat it. Carhartt does make very good products. The construction on this bag is wonderful. The zippers work flawlessly and there are just the right amount of compartments. You don’t get a ton of organization however as It’s just the main compartment the front smaller zipper, and then one other little spot. But this bag holds a lot of stuff. I managed to hold an iPhone 16 Pro Max, my keys, my wallet, my multitool, my flashlight, tissues, small first aid kit, and several other items in this bag with no problems, and I still had room in there if I needed to cram in a few extras. I really like having the Grab handle on top of the bag as it gives you another option to carry it without just having to use the waist strap. I bought this to use as a waist back and conceivably you could wear it as a Crossbody, but the strap is somewhat shorter than other brands that I have tried and may not be what you’re looking for in terms of length for a Crossbody as it tends to sit quite high on the chest. Now the strap is a wide strap which I really appreciate as the ones with the narrow straps tend to sag more and just don’t provide enough support. The buckle clip is strong and durable and I appreciate the fact that I can adjust the belt from both sides, which makes on the go adjustments very easy. I ended up deciding to alternate between this and one other bag depending on the circumstance and what I’m doing most of the time is to use this bag throughout the week, more as a work bag and I use the other bag as my off work bag. So far it is held up quite well. I did manage to get it a little wet it wasn’t a big deal. While it’s not waterproof it did keep the water from getting to the internal items. Now I wouldn’t go throw this in the ocean, but it should hold up to just normal every day exposure to liquids. The only thing that would be nice, Is if the interior were a different color. I know a lot of different bad companies now do that and it’s great when it’s executed well because it does make locating items much easier. Sometimes I do have to use my little mini flashlight to be able to see where things have shifted in the bag but overall if you need a durable well-made, higher capacity bag that isn’t gonna stick out 6 inches from your waist, I would definitely recommend this one. Carhartt is known for the quality and in this case they definitely delivered

Typical high quality one would expect from Carhartt. The clips seem like they will last a long time, and the attached webbing is a nice quality and size. I can wear around my waist or adjust slightly and wear as a cross-body sling style purse. I purchased to hold all of my essentials when walking my dogs. I especially like the center pocket for my phone as it has some soft padding to prevent accidental scratches. Plenty of room for keys, leashes, phone, poo bags, license etc. I wanted the pink or lavender but chose the green so that my husband and I can share this bag. The green is really very pretty and wasn't a compromise now that I see it in person. We use it at the beach mostly and it has not been affected by sand or moisture. Mine is still very clean, but I would not hesitate to hand-wash it and air dry it if it gets cruddy. I believe it will hold up just fine as everything is high quality.

Bought this for travel abroad but have been using it consistently and will continue as I work in the classroom and students ask for pencils, calculators, etc. and love the little secret pocket inside the largest pocket. Convenient velcro small part in the front to hold lip balm or similarly small things. There is a small chain inside it too so if someone tried to get in and yank a particular item attached the person can't do so easily. I really appreciate this and know it is great quality and value and will last a long time and can use it across the body or belt style and easily adjust as needed!

The bag is made from durable feeling material with reinforced seams; feels like it will stand up to everyday use. And there’s a great selection of colours to choose from.

I picked up the grey Carhartt Essentials Bag recently, and it’s quickly become my go-to for everyday carry. The build quality is classic Carhartt—tough, weather-resistant, and surprisingly roomy for its compact size. It’s got multiple compartments that make it easy to keep things organised, whether I’m out on a walk or heading to work. The grey colour is understated but stylish, and it pairs well with pretty much anything. My only gripe is that the front pocket’s a bit snug for larger items, but for keys, cards, and bits and bobs, it’s spot on. All in all, it’s a sturdy, no-nonsense bag that does the job well.

Es una excelente cangurera. Tiene bastante espacio y bolsas por lo que es una gran opción para llevar un poco más de lo básico. Vi los comentarios que decían que la correa era muy corta pero está cangurera la usa alguien que mide 1.80 y me queda muy bien, aunque quizá si eres una persona con sobrepeso y obesidad sí te quede corta la correa.
