Neopets: The Official Tarot Deck: A 78-Card Deck and Guidebook, Faerie Edition

Well, this is certainly a trip down memory lane! Sadly it's been years since I last played Neopets, which is a shame because I was there in its early days. I remember the original Bruce Forsyth pet before it became the Bruce penguin, the original Scorchio that looked more like a bat, the Cerpull that became the Tatsu, and then the Eyrie. Yep, I'm officially old 😂 Sadly work, life, and illness all got in the way and my account was eventually closed for inactivity. My poor neglected pets and years of collecting random neoitems was completely lost. While I could have created a new account and start from scratch, I just couldn't bring myself to go back to the game (and thankfully Flight Rising came along later to scratch that virtual pet itch). Despite losing my account, when I saw a Neopets tarot deck was coming out, I knew I had to get a copy, and I'm so glad I did! It's a beautiful deck, I love Aimee & Anthony's artwork and I think they've really done these characters justice. I'm surprised how many characters I recognise given how long it's been. Within the guidebook, Crystal explains the image (very helpful given how out of date I am with Neopets storylines) before explaining the traditional meaning of the card, both upright and reversed. Rather than just being a tie-in product, I do think some thought has been put into this deck, and I'm really looking forward to reading with it going forward ☺️

The quality of the cards is very nice. The art work is beautiful and also very nostalgic. I have had some accurate readings as well. Highly recommend this product!

it's laughable that buyers were expecting $65 gold foil matte cards when it's a fraction of the price of the original release tarot deck, especially because there are sample images that have NO gold foiling in every description i've seen (including this amazon listing). they also never advertised an item code so i'd caution fans thinking about getting this deck to ignore buyer 1-star reviews who were misled by their own expectations (which honestly sound like some billionaire neopian problems lmao). this is an incredible bargain for what you're getting: the same art at a stunningly high quality, a thick cardboard box with thumb creases for ease of opening and closing, and a comprehensive guidebook that includes neopian lore of every card and help with tarot reading. i personally find the art on this set more vibrant than the $65 edition because there isn't an almost-white film from the matte finish clouding the details like the original. and it's literally $17 right now. if you have the original and you want to use it but you're afraid of wrecking it, buy this edition. the cards are larger and you will be able to tell when a card is in reverse due to the faerie wings but it's a negligible inconvenience. the quality of this set is better than any of the bicycle-card quality tarot decks you find at a barnes & noble. i'm a happy camper with this set.

Generally I never write reviews but this deck is incredible. I'm learning about tarot (beginner), I bought a traditional one and this one is both amazing but this one is more special. The art is beautiful, the designer is completely thinking about the situations of the arcana and the Guide that accompanies is extremely detailed. I was a big fan of neopets as a child and out of the three decks I have, I can't deny that the connection I felt with this one was incredible. My personality is focused on games, children's stories, a sweeter, cute side, and a more “fairy world” vibe and when I opened the deck I felt like it was him. I didn't feel the same connection with others but this one is very special, I saw my childhood represented in this deck.
