We would not advise placing oils in the water as this can damage the vaporizer. We would suggest placing the essential oils into the medicine cup located just above the grills that allow the steam to come out of the unit. Incorrect voltage for the UK

The product does not work in the UK which uses a 250 Volt supply, the product requires a 110 Volt supply.
