Water Storing Crystals for Plants, Keeps Soil Moist, 5LB, Coarse

I live in AZ and mixing these into the soil helps keep it moist so I don’t have to water 2x/day in the hot summers. Only a tiny bit goes a long way. I added 1 scoop on crystals to a large plastic McDonald’s cup and it swelled enough to fill 3 of them! I recommend starting with only a small amount to figure out your exact needs

I used this product in my planters. The plants look happy and I don't have to water as often as before. The soil stays moist. Be sure to not fill the pot to the top because when you put water on the soil it will fluff up and over flow the rim. This is a must purchase if you live in an area where the temp gets over 100 degrees.

In Tennessee, you never know the weather this year. It was hot and we were having a drought with no rain in 45 days. I had purchased some bushes and trees and I was worried about cleaning them too late in the spring or early summer. It was suggested by a friend and advert Gardner to add some of the water storing crystals to the dirt around the plant. I have watered once every three days at 100° weather and the bushes and trees seem to be doing very well. I do believe these water throwing crystals made a huge difference and help save on my water bill definitely will purchase more.

Crystals form up nicely. They are not uniform in size/shape if that is a concern to you...it was not to me. They do grow decently large. If planting, i like to pre-soak them to place them properly and not push the plant out when absorbed. I was mostly using these as ice packs - mix up with some alcohol (drinking kind, not rubbing) and water, put in a vacuum baggy. I felt like it was a good cost value for what is in the tub.

This stuff works great. If you use too much it expands so much your plant will rise. Ooops! But here in Florida with heat and humidity we have dry spells and new plants can die fast.

The absolutely wonderful Bakerfield we can only get them online they don't sell them Locally. I think this is the bestest invention maker planting. I'm sure it will be good -no GREAT for new lawns. However if you're gonna do spots in the lawn I wouldn't use this I think it would grow much different than the rest of it unless you feel like it everywhere. I highly recommend it and I'll buy it again

It's easy to mix in with your potting mix or soil it's doing wonderful in my garden I am in an area that's experiencing significant drought so my plants are growing beautifully I definitely like the quality and the crystals last for years they look like little white pellets until they charge and then they're big clear gelatinous things. My veggies are definitely healthy and I will be mixing it in with my flowers also I like the quality of this product.

They seem to work well when holding water, I just wish the ingredients were listed on the bucket. I bought it thinking it was potassium polyacrylate thanks to amazon being incorrect then after receiving it I reached out to the company and found out it is actually sodium polyacrylate which is not safe for my intended purpose. I was going to use them for my crickets before feeding them to lizards. But if you are using them for plants it should be fine.
