Bought the long tongs primarily for the air fryer, the smaller ones are a bonus, they are very well made and sturdy, the spring action makes them easy to handle

Looked good and worked well for about 2 months, after which the silicone coating started to come off both tongs. I cannot recommend this product.

Like so many other products I bought after reading trusted amazon.com top 50 reviewer Don Blankenship's reviews, purchasing these tongs was a no brainer. If you have ever read his reviews you know what I am talking about. Well, I absolutely love these tongs. The weekend before last I cooked mass quantities of bacon on the grill on my oven broiling pan. That grill was HOT; however, the long tongs made this a snap. These tongs lock and unlock easily for storage and use with just a simple tug of the hanging ring. They are so much easier than the metal tongs that I used prior to discovering these gems. I have tried these tongs over an extended period of time and can honestly say that these are the best I have ever used. This evening, I noticed that there was only one Healthy Choice Fudge ice cream bar left in the freezer; however, it was below the pull out drawer in an area much too small for my greedy large hands to reach. Magic! The long tongs were just the tool that I needed. Did I mention how much I love Healthy Choice Fudge ice cream bars? Nevertheless, these handy tongs saved the day! These tongs are attractive and useful for a variety of needs. I recommend them without reservation. If you are looking for inexpensive, durable and easy to us tongs--THIS IS IT! Enjoy! Update: I enjoy this product so much that I bought one for my son and shipped it to him out of state as a Christmas stocking stuffer! 8-8-16 Update: We use these so much now that I bought several more sets to use while others are in the dishwasher.

I hated our old black fiberglass-reinforced nylon tongs, which had no locking mechanism and didn't grip foods securely, and rarely used them, reaching instead for my stainless steel locking tongs with scallop-edge pincers and trying to avoid letting the metal tongs inadvertently touch, and potentially scratch, my nonstick-coated pans. So, when we decided to buy two sets of Copper Chef Black Diamond nonstick pans (which are awesome) to replace our old nonstick cookware, I decided to look for some silicone-tipped tongs to protect our new investment. I own several OXO Good Grips kitchen gadgets and utensils and like them, so my first inclination was to buy their silicone-coated scalloped locking tongs. But when the pretty teal color of the silicone on these StarPack Premium tongs caught my eye and I saw that they had thousands of 5-star reviews, I decided to take a closer look. The price of these was significantly lower than the ones I had intended to get, and I liked the idea of having two pairs of tongs, so one would be available even when the other was in the dishwasher. I appreciated the thoroughness of the description and other information on the Amazon product page, and I prefer buying from family-owned companies, as well as businesses that have enough confidence in their products' performance to offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. My husband and I really enjoy using these kitchen tongs, and often choose them even when we're cooking in pans without a nonstick coating. Plain scalloped stainless steel locking tongs grip more securely than those coated with silicone, since the sharp metal scallops "bite" into the food a bit. But the lack of sharp edges also makes the silicone-coated tongs safer to use, as well as much quicker and easier to clean. And when I'm pan-frying just a few breakfast sausages in a small skillet, for example, I prefer the shorter pair of tongs, although both pairs are very comfortable to use and thoughtfully designed. The locking mechanism is extremely smooth and easy to operate (although it does require two hands). To open the locked tongs, push in the silicone-coated ring. To lock them again, pull the ring out. (Don't pull hard!) Being able to unlock and lock these tongs with very little force is a significant benefit for people (like me) who don't have much grip strength. We've been extremely pleased with the quality of both the materials and the manufacturing. Highly recommended!

I have been a long time purchaser on Amazon but have never written a review. We were needing some new tongs to go with new skillets that we didn't want to get scratched up. These tongs had great reviews so we gave them a try. They were a great price and have very nice grips with more silicone on the handle which makes gripping quite easy even with a little oil or moisture on your hands. They are scalloped well with just the right curvature for being able to grip and turn your food with ease. Upon receiving them I was a bit disappointed with the smoothness with which they opened and closed on both sets. The lock worked well but they would not always open fully and the resistance was not related to the tension from the spring but how the two tongs came together. I thought I'd give them a week or so to see if they loosened up before deciding what to do, however, Star Pack elicited feedback on my purchase after a few days so I let them know what was going on. They were very responsive and are very invested in making sure their product works well and that customers are satisfied. Now that we have been using them for a couple weeks, they have loosened up and are working well with no problems. Most often, when I get one of these emails from a vendor I simply delete it because it's just another email to respond to and when I have it feels very canned. This was definitely not the case with Star Pack. Great product and a great company to buy from on Amazon.
