Works as should

- I received the probiotic quickly. The Puritan's Pride products do seem to be very good quality, too. - I honestly don't know how to "rate" the probiotic, though - I didn't start out with any problems, but instead, got them before I went into surgery because I knew I'd be receiving antibiotics, and probiotics are supposed to head-off antibiotic-induced imbalance of the intestinal flora. - That being said, taking these, I did not *develop* any problems from the antibiotics or the medications - I typically did not when I was younger, but being a "Senior" now, I don't mind a bit of "extra help"! =;-) And my system *has* been functioning pretty smoothly! - That's about all I can say.

I have been using this probiotic for years.

Following removal of my gall bladder, I began to experience loose stools frequently, sometimes urgently. Taking daily doses of powdered fiber helped but was a nuisance. I began reading about the importance of beneficial microbes to overall good health of the gut. Not being trained in microbiology, I can't distinguish one microbe from another--which is good, which not. I decided the only way to find out if probiotics might help me was to select a product and try it for a while. Based on its attractive pricing and my previous satisfaction with other of the company's products, I decided to try Puritan's Pride Probiotic 10. I am happy to report that the result for me has been dramatic improvement in the condition I described. Two months on, I feel better and see no need to continue the fiber therapy. I take notice of too many complaints about short expiry dates upon delivery of the products. I don't know if there is a valid reason for this, for example, perhaps the product, itself, has a short shelf life. Even if so, if the vendor is in the habit of delivering, say, a 120-day supply of product that becomes out-of-date in sixty days, this would be a terrible practice. My 5-star rating is for the efficacy of the product for me, but buyers are advised to be aware and get the vendor's assurance that the product will be fresh when it arrives.
