Years ago I got Hubby a night vision monocular device. It worked okay, and he has had fun using it. But we recently moved to an area of the state that has more wildlife coming out at night, and I wanted to get him something that was a little easier to use and binocular. I found this night vision binocular with camera at a very good price, and ordered. Hubby is delighted. My only complaint is that there was no case or bag. Every set of binoculars we have ever purchased came with a protective case. But, okay. Hubby is, at least right now, not interested in any photography, but I intend to look into that aspect. I am the techie in our home. The binos work well in daylight as well as night. This is a plus. The lighted adjustment buttons make them easy to see and adjust at night. The manual focus is easy to use, and provides a clear image without any fuss, and the zoom is easy to use. We will definitely be looking into the photo and video aspects. We are older, retired folk, and new technology of any kind takes us a little while to figure out--okay, takes ME a little while to figure out. But this is a nice night bino, and so far I have figured out how to use what I need. More adventure and excitement are coming!

I got these so I would be able to more easily find my tree stand at 4 o’clock in the morning, but these are not suitable for that purpose which is why I returned them.

I have only ever used one other pair of night vision goggles so I don't have a lot to compare to. However, compared to the other one I have, this one has some definite advantages and I like it better. First of all you can see the buttons in the dark because they are lit up. The focus adjustment is easy to use to sharpen up your focus. (it doesn't have automatic focus) They are comfortable to hold and pretty easy to use. The screen is very bright and the pictures that it takes are clear. This is true both in the darkness with the infrared and in daylight. I have included both daylight and infrared pictures that were taken with this as well as a video that was taken in the darkness using infrared. The bottom of the unit has threads in case you want to hook it to a tripod. There is also a neck strap and a charging cable included. They record to an included 32 gigabyte SD card. Of course these don't utilize the much more expensive thermal technology or image intensification technology but instead utilize the less expensive active illumination. The infrared light would be visible to someone that could see the device while you were looking at them. For that reason you probably would not want to use these for tactical purposes but they would be great to use while camping so that you could see wildlife at night! For entry level night vision goggles these are pretty impressive and I can recommend them. To help understand how I rate items: My philosophy is, that for a rating system to be effective, the highest rating and the lowest rating should be reserved for a relatively small percentage of the best and the worst products. If I give a product four stars, it is because I believe it is a very good product. To get five stars from me requires a product to go above and beyond and really impress me beyond my expectations. By the same token, a product has to be VERY, VERY bad to get only one star from me. One thing that I DON'T take into consideration with my ratings is price. I may make a general statement such as “this is a good value” but it will not affect my star rating. The reason is that product prices change, even from day-to-day. Also what one person may consider a good price someone else might not. I feel it is more important to review the quality and features of a product and let the buyer decide whether the current price is worth it to them. Another thing that I don't take into consideration are issues with shipping. This is because the seller does not always have control over that. Following is each of the five categories of *stars* and how I assign them to a product: ***** Five stars - The product exceeded my expectations. I really love it and would actively suggest it to friends and would certainly purchase it again if needed. **** Four stars - The product met my expectations. It does what it claims to do. I like it and would recommend it to someone if they asked about it. I would Most likely purchase it again if needed . *** Three stars - The product is average and for the most part does what it claims. There may be a few things I don't like about it. If I recommended it to someone, I would state my reservations. I may purchase it again if I could not find a better alternative. ** Two stars - The product fell far short of my expectations. It may, in some respects, do what it claims to do but has far too many problems to overlook. I would never recommended it to someone nor would I ever purchase it again. There is a good possibility I would return it. * One star - The product is terrible. It has way too many cons and few if any pros. I would actively warn my friends away from it and would most likely return it if possible.

The first is do they work on a pitch black night, and then are the controls and ergonomics good enough to actually use them. Yes on both counts. The brightness on a dark night when you can’t see your own hand is surprising. The blue back lit controls make it easy to know what you are doing, but don’t rush it; read the directions and take some time to familiarize yourself. The camera and video makes capturing images a snap, but if using them more than briefly a tripod or other rest will make for steady viewing. The viewing window is big, so no squinting. Didn’t come with a case but any small cloth bag with a cinch will work, like what some large spinning reels come in. If you want to look at and photograph or video stuff in the dark without flipping on a light, like around a back yard feeder, these glasses offer some attractive features at a reasonable price.

I so dislike that at this price point there wasn't an included protection pouch. Actually I'm highly disappointed in that. I feel it would guarantee protection and the manufacturer should consider offering one. Also, the buttons take time to get used to. Everything feels kinda out of place, especially the focus. On to the good... wow these take some beautiful pictures, clear videos with clear sound as well. I'm loving spying on the birds and squirrels! I'm highly impressed by the quality of the night vision and infared. Never ever expected that outcome. Actually I didn't even think it was possible. In the video I'm using my cell phone to record the difference of looking into the pitch black woods of my yard without the binoculars vs with. I honestly think it's amazing!

First right out of the box I was disappointed that there is no protective case, or even a bag to store the goggles in. Second they don't provide a card reader for the micro SD card. Things I expect when I'm spending this kind of money to help protect my investment. Not providing a card reader is just inconvenient. As for the goggles themselves they are nice. I like the lighted button feature. The zoom is decent. The focus on the bottom of the goggles feels out of place. It would be nice if it were on top with all the other controls. As for the controls they are easy to learn (unless the other pair you own are on the opposite side.) Then it takes a few more minutes to adapt. The screen is easy to read, and the menu options are plentiful. There is a master power switch on the bottom for long term storage, but it will reset all your settings to factory. The IR at night is good quality, just adjust the IR level for the distance your looking at. The starlight mode is okay and in color as long as there is some ambient light source. Day mode is full color and work great during the day but not too good with any light source at night. They do come with a micro SD card installed. Just format before using (found in settings in the menu.) It does come with a lanyard, cleaning cloth, and charging cable as well. There is also a tripod inset just above the master power switch on the bottom. Overall a good set of night vision goggles, not the best out there, but decent for the price.

These night vision binoculars are a good value for the price.
