Since it's a rom-com with a theme of Hockey and people healing together, I loved the book amd Helena's writing, but I felt it was unnecessarily stretched to 450 pages. The writing was interesting and I'm looking forward to stories of the other players as well. Tristan has this lost boy and filthy boy vibe going for him and I love how Bea let's him to come to realizations and gives him that one final chance.

It's been long since I read anything by the author and I was very excited for this book. The banter between Tristan & Rix was perfect! The plot was engaging and the writing was good. Also the side characters were solid and the chemistry between Tristan & Rix was great. But I had an issue with the pacing, the story started to feel like it was dragged and some things got repetitive. Overall it was an easy read, definitely entertaining. The first half was really good but I was losing interest in the middle.

a good fun read
This was a fun read. Not my absolute favourite but I still enjoyed it all the same. The good part of the book was how the characters grew in the end. The spice was immaculate, it’s after a long while I read something that made me took a pause and think “is this what really happened”.But butBoth the characters got on my nerves on various occasions and I got where they were coming from but still they were mature or were meant to be mature. I really thought Flip would be a brother who cared or worried about his sister but throughout the book I wished he had paid more attention. He was shallow in his thoughts. I liked how Flip and Tristan sorted their issues and it was the mature thing to do. The push and pull irritated the heck out of me.I enjoyed the audiobook too, only one regret was that the dialogues weren’t spoken by the characters but by the one in whose perspective the chapter was written.

Incredibly entertaining and smoking hot story!
If You Hate Me was the best kind of dirty fun and I loved every second. Can a book catch fire because seriously, this baby was scorching! I loved getting to know Rix and Tristan and watching their hate banter turn into so much more. I loved the build, the sexual chemistry, and all the entertaining moments. I never wanted to put it down and read it way too fast because I couldn’t wait to find out what would happen next.Rix and Tristan were everything. I loved the witty yet wicked barbs flying between them, the tension was palpable. However, I could see the cracks forming and I loved those moments shining through when you could feel the sweetness and playfulness between them. I loved the building feelings they were denying. When that tension between them finally spilled over… just WOW! I've read some hot books before but I swear I smelled smoke when these two got together. Beyond the sex, there was drama, pain, and emotional upheaval as they opened up and shared the issues they were dealing with and I liked how they worked through them. The humor was fantastic and I loved Rix and Tristan’s internal dialogue. This was filled with so many laugh-out-loud moments and I loved them all. I liked that it was dual POVs so I could get inside their heads and truly understand what drove them.I loved all the characters involved. I love how Rix found a core group of friends and the laughter and support they brought. I loved Tristan's teammates and their camaraderie, and how they brought the wisdom when needed. A lot of people were introduced and I can't wait to see who will get a story. I’m hoping Rix’s brother and Tristan’s best friend Flip gets one, this guy needs to work himself out! I love how their different relationships with Flip factored into the story and the complications it added. This was a super entertaining and addicting to read. I absolutely loved all the heat but even more than that, I loved Rix and Tristan coming together, opening up and being vulnerable, and getting to their HEA. It was the best!

Perfect for enemies-to-lovers fans who love spicy rom-coms!
Wowzers! I couldn’t put IF YOU HATE ME down! I’m always up for a new book for Helena Hunting, so I jumped at the chance to read and review this one nice and early and I’m so glad that I did! I read it both as an egalley and listened to bits of the advanced listener’s copy and both the ebook and audiobook were absolutely fabulous…the readers are amazing and Helena’s words were as captivating as always!IF YOU HATE ME was hilarious, heartwarming and jammed full of sizzling spice! Rix and Tristan were such wonderful characters and I had so much fun seeing them go from hate to something much, much deeper…and their chemistry was off the charts! I loved their solo journeys, and also how they complemented each other. I loved seeing Rix become more confident in herself, uncover her passions, and find a sense of belonging...and Tristan. Oh boy! I was right there with Rix when Tristan was on her last nerve, but he won me over hard! It was a delight to see him grow, and I love, love, loooooved seeing him learn to realize his own worth. Gotta love self-aware main characters who know they have to work on themselves! ;)There truly was so much heart in this story...and it definitely didn't cool the heat down at all. In fact, I'd say this is one of Helena's spiciest books yet and if you haven't perfected your spicy reader poker face...you might want to watch if you decide to read this one in public...especially if the audio is your format of choice! It's a scorcher and you will likely find yourself blushing. ;)Now onto the rest of the fabulous cast of characters! One of my favourite parts of starting new series from Helena is meeting her delightful cast of characters...and she's once again created the most excellent group of side characters who I desperately want to read about. I loved Rix's growing group of friends, and loooooved all of the Toronto Terror players! If you look around online, you might just spot some hints on what's in store next for this series (*hint hint* look for IF YOU WANT ME)...and I am seriously so excited for what's next! I'm also just so excited for all of the potential in this series, and can't wait until more and more people have read IF YOU HATE ME so we can all discuss who we want to read about next! ;)Overall, I absolutely loved IF YOU HATE ME! Enemies-to-lovers is one of my favourite tropes and I'm always a fan of brother's best friend...so this was right up my alley! I also adored seeing a sports romance set in Toronto from one of my favourite Canadian authors! It was so fun to see certain Canadianisms...and even hear some of them in the audio version, too. I highly recommend IF YOU HATE ME to anyone who loves spicy rom-coms that are high on the spice scale and pack some delightful heat, especially if you also love hockey romances! This is one that I won’t be forgetting anytime soon and I already can't wait to reread it! ;)Star Rating:★★★★★

4/⭐️ 3/🌶️Tristan and Bea are adorable and frustrating.I wasn’t a huge fan going into this book but I really wanted to see how Tristan and Beas enemies with benefits would play out, if you are not a fan of miscommunication and avoidant communication then this book won’t be for you and it will make you want to pull your hair out completely.Tristan is struggling with his past and doesn’t know how to deal with emotions unless in the bedroom, and Bea who had a long time crush on her brothers best friend just wants to figure out how Tristan really feels for her. This book is a ride and a half, Tristan is in denial so much but watching him work though it is great and Bea has the will of a saint to stick around and also work on her own issues as both come from challenging upbringings in their own way.

super spicy
I really liked this one. A great enemies with benefits to lovers and best friends little sister. It has all the things most of us love.I always love a great series and this one I think I’m gonna like a lot. Rix and Tristan are pure fire whether it’s bickering and fighting or if it’s anywhere they let their temptations free. And when I say anywhere I mean that. There are a ton of very memorable scenes. Especially one with a cucumber.Tristian is a very damaged mmc and has a lot of walls he keeps up. When Rix suddenly moves in he right away looks at her as someone he has to take care of. He doesn’t like it but even thought he says and thinks this, deep down he is someone that’s going to take care of the people in his life. Rix is always putting others first and the only person she really stands up to for his bad behaviour is Tristian. But she is also someone who doesn’t want others Especially her brother to help support her. She wants and needs to carve out her own path. But what she needs is someone to notice her and cheer her on and see her. Tristan does that even though it scares him. He may be the guy who hates and is scared of commitment but his reasons aren’t what you think. He expects them to leave and hurt him so his reflex is to close up and push away. It does take some time for both of them to figure things out especially Tristian and they both deny their feeling they have to themselves. I’m the end I’m happy and loved how Tristian started to put in the work and not just with Rix but for himself to be a better person. In the end the redemption he has was perfect for me
