Cantu Shea Butter for Natural Hair Moisturizing Curl Activator Cream, 12 Ounce

This is the only curl cream (styling hold) that I use for my 2C-3A curls. It controls the frizz, holds a cast, but doesn't stay crunchy. I've used it for years and it just so happens that Amazon is usually more affordably priced than my local blue and yellow big box store!

Good hair product

I was using the regular Cantu leave in conditioner in the 16oz tub but it tended to make my curls straight and gave me no “hold”. This keeps the curls in, but like other reviewers said, it is a bit stiffer, but not stiff like gel. Once my hair is dry, I can run my fingers through it and it will get looser and less stiff. I have wavy, thick, Caucasian hair with some wirey grays. It does moisturize nicely and smells great, like their other products. During dry season, I still need to add some gel or other product to the ends of my hair. I feel like the Cantu products help my hair to stay healthy and they add the extra moisturizing I need in a dry, dessert, beach climate.

This was my favorite cream when I lived in the city, I couldn’t find them in stores upstate so I got these from Amazon and consistency was the same like the one I’ve gotten in store.

While I like the softness of my hair while using this cream. It leaves white flakes all through my hair giving the appearance of dandruff and I am not okay with that.

I have tried similar products with varying results. I really like the proper amount of hold this provides without weighing down my hair. I have naturally wavy hair that tends towards straightness sans humidity, but this works great even in the dry winter. I have not tried it in humidity yet. I also enjoy the scent.

I have thick curly hair. I also live in a very humid climate and I have sensitive skin. I have struggled for YEARS to find a product that didn't irritate my skin and worked well with my hair. This stuff is magic. It's thick but not heavy. It's moisturizing but not greasy. And it makes this curly hair bounce in joy. I use it daily and have no problem with build up and even when humidity is at 100% my curls are well defined.
