Excellent Mysteries
I was given Murder at Merivale Manor for Christmas by my daughter and we solved it together. So then I was hooked! I purchased Murder in Market Hill for myself and Iโve just completed it successfully! I have to admit I needed one hint in part two but other than that I managed to work everything out. The kit is really well put together and very realistic. Hours of fun and head scratching!! Canโt wait to try another one! I definitely recommend these games

Murder in Market Hill - Solved
This is the first time we have played one of these games and had great fun. Loved working through all the evidence, making notes and piecing it all together. We chose a 5 out of 5 difficulty and enjoyed the challenge - ended up using some of the hints as there was a twist at the end. All the information in the pack was helpful, well presented and added to creating the atmosphere for the game. It did take us longer than the 3 hours but pleased to say we caught the killer in the end. Looking forward to the next one!

One of the best!
Have done a few of these now! Absolutely love them, they are so well thought out and are so good! Feeling like a real detective with all the paper clippings, letters, etc. probably one of my favourites so far.

Another fun romp. but objectively not a 5* difficulty, and somewhat flawed
Really great materials and set up as always (ive done ALL of them). Infact this one might be better than the others in terms of story/background, i was hooked instantly. What i will say is this is the perfect one for anyone to start with, there are lots of things that look like they might later be red herrings or relevant, which later end up not being used.. so the story is detailed and engaging, without needing to pick up on, and remember, every detail - everything is pretty straight forward, and theres no real tricks or gotchas. Determining the killer really involves noticing one (pretty obvious) detail, and doing a puzzle. This gives a great flavour for what the other games are like, and i definitely enjoyed it, but it was objectively the easiest solution (in terms of hoops to jump through and logical deductions/connections to make)... in fact it was somewhat too easy, and the usual jump for joy getting it right was somewhat soured by the fact this one holds your hand so much. Personally, i like red herrings and having to double-read everything, and going a bit insane towards the end trying to hold everything in your head. In short, its a perfect start to Cryptic Killers, but if you've done ones like the Musician, Casino, Biologist, Theatre, Manor (i realise im basically listing them all) and want an equal or more advanced challenge, you wont find it here. this is a 3.5 at best, but a solid experience all the same. I still think the Musician is the best one in terms of overall package; story, complexity, satisfaction.

Excellent entertainment.
This is our first Cryptic Killers case. We thought we'd give it a go over Christmas, for an afternoon's entertainment. It actually took us two afternoons! The evidence pack is excellent. It's so realistic. Plus having to get to online evidence too. It was great fun. We got a bit carried away and tried to use our fridge as a whiteboard like they do on TV, with information on post-it notes. We cannot recommend this highly enough. It would work for one person or a group. It is suitable for a wide age range. All the materials are top quality. Excellent value for money. We will definitely be trying to solve another case soon.

Amazing fun
This was so much fun, took us about 4-5 hours to do, had to use a hint by the end (it was late in the night!) but we were pretty much almost there. Definitely a challenge but very fun!

Really enjoyed this one
This one was quite difficult, a solid 4/5 for difficulty, but nothing annoyed us or was so bizarre and obscure that it held us up. So although it's quite difficult it didn't feel so in a frustrating way. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Really like how it's in two parts so you can spend around 2 hours on the first part and around an hour on the second. This one, just like all the other Cryptic Killers games doesn't require you to destroy anything, and all we really use is two pieces of A4 paper, one to write down general bits like date and time of death, and another sheet with all suspects, possible alibis, opportunity for murder and possible motives etc. Everything has been really thoughtfully produced, with different textures, and thicknesses for the various bits of evidence and information. We know it's not real, but it does add to the immersion with all the attention to detail. I think this is the eighth one of these we've played and they are by far the best series. Other games have clues which are so incredibly easy to miss (a scar on the face of a very poor quality picture for example) or just don't really make much sense (mass produced items which have a hidden meaning within them - ie. impossible in reality), whereas these are very well thought out and more realistic.

Great Way to Spend an Engaging Evening off of Electronics
These games are fantastic! My sister and I did one over New Yearโs and now every time we spend a weekend at the family cabin, the โcrime solving detective duoโ reunites and we bring a new case to solve (lol!). Great way to stay engaged and off electronics for an evening. This one (Murder on Market Hill) was quite involved, with two โpartsโ in two separate envelopes - it took quite a while and I loved it. Have done two others, will most likely end up purchasing all of the Cryptic Killers cases before the yearโs end!

We have played them all, and this is the BEST YET
Solved without the use of hints. Not for the beginner, Market Hill is intense and challenging, with many tiny details that of course matter. Nothing is as it seems, and much like real life, you have to sift through many red herrings and inconsequential facts and people. What a wonderful way to spend 5 hours. We did this very slowly and methodically, and it was so well laid out, with zero mistakes in the game itself which is such a pleasure and so refreshing. Thank you for the creators for such a masterpiece. I wish they showed the level of difficulty, as it is a 5 out of 5, and some people who never had done one of these may be overwhelmed.

Great game with a few people, could be accomplishable solo as well
Awesome game! Really enjoyed the flow and it gave us a challenge while also not being too puzzling. The mix of photos, letters, etc was a nice touch to provide different kinds of material. Considering it took us a few hours, id say it was worth the price as well!
