No latch at least the Army Mess Kit had a latch on it
It is like carrying dishes if you do not use the pouch, I like my mess kits with latches. There is nothing like real camping!

Great little cooking kit
Have used this quite a few times and so far i think its awesome. Packs away nicely and is easy to clean up after use. Comes with utensils that are pretty interestingly designed and a wooden spatula that i would probably season. I added a ferro rod, lint fire starter and some drink packets(electrolytes and instant coffee and hot cocoa) and some basic seasonings (salt, pepper, garlic) along with a 4 inch stainless steel stove that folds up in a little bag and it all stacks nice in a cinch bag. Its only meant for small stuff and only for one person but its a nice kit for your backpack. Nice and light, doesnt make a lot of noise if packed right and its pretty small so doesnt take up a lot of room.

Chinese... Krap!
I don't like the cheapness of this. Plus, I'm scared to cook anything in it, for fear of chemical reactions. I'll be sending it back.

Easily fits in your backpack
This is a review for MEETSUN Camping Cookware Mess Kit with 1L Pot,Backpacking Gear,Camping Cooking Set,Camping Pots and Pans Set,Camp Kitchen Equipment Accessories 11pcs for 1-2 Persons Camping Hiking PicnicThis set is pretty well made for the price. You can't make a lot of food at one time with it, but you can easily feed yourself, and if you have to, make another serving for somebody else. When you are done, these are easy to clean, as they are nonstick. These pans also have collapsible handles, which allows you to stack everything in the largest pot. This makes it easy to store them in a small area. They come with a travel bag, which it all easily fits into. This whole set when stacked up is about as large as my tabletop firepit when it is collapsed. Speaking of which, the items in this set fit perfectly on the top of my tabletop firepit, and can be used to cook food. This makes it easy to cook a meal while hiking, without carrying a large set of pots/pans and a cooking stove.Overall, I am pleased with this set, and recommend it.

A Convenient and Complete Mess Kit
This is a nice and relatively complete mess kit. Everything stores pretty compact and is light enough. I thought it was a nice touch to include a loofah sponge, a wooden spatula, and even a mini-ladle. These small details make for a more pleasant homey experience, which is important when your morale depends on it. It comes with foldable silverware as well and a couple small bowls, a bag and carabiner.I do have one negative… and perhaps it’s just me. It seems like this doesn’t bother anyone else, but if you’re health conscious, you should know that this is aluminum. Yes, I know that stainless steel is heavier. But personally, I try to avoid aluminum as much as possible. Still, when push comes to shove and the world is coming to an end, I’ll very happily grab this if I don’t have a stainless steel one available to me.Overall, very happy with the functionality and compact design. I just wish it wasn’t aluminum.

Nice little mess kit for backpacking
Some context: we like to camp in a teardrop trailer with a galley kitchen. We don't have a saucepan at the moment so I thought this would be a good addition to our set up. The saucepan and lid will serve our needs very well. We already have a frying pan, so the smaller one that comes with this kit won't get used. The kit comes with lots of additional things: some fold up cutlery, the world's smallest bamboo spatula, a plastic item they call a soup ladle, and two very light plastic bowls. Oh and a carabina. And a piece of natural sponge for cleaning it I presume. This would be a perfect set for someone starting out doing light weight backpacking. If you already have some camping gear, this is probably not for you.
