Have a need to my inserts to the 5 yr cross pencil and pen set I got many years ago working for Litton guidance and control. I love the cross pens, and needed to find the inserts for them, since I write all the time. As I moved out of Ca, I found some of the things I could go and buy locally, weren't available in the new state I live in, so like always I went to Amazon and found them there. fits, works, and I m happy, that is all that matters. Smooth, and they tend to last the ink is "just right" as Goldie locks would say, and of course they fit perfectly.

I ordered the wrong size the first time because I evidently can’t read directions but when I ordered the right size they were perfect so I’m going to assume that these were perfect as well before I sent them back

These refills work fine and certainly aren't expensive. However, I feel a little silly that I didn't notice that they have a tiny bit of wax(?) on their tips. I put a refill the pen and it didn't seem to fit. When I looked at the tip sticking out, it looked like it had gooey dirt on the end. When I took the refill out and looked more closely at the rest of the refills, I saw they all had a little bit on their tips. Some simple instructions would have helped. Once you take the wax off, they work fine.

When you purchase non-Cross pen refills on the cheap then expect cheap. It's not to say these don't work, they do write just fine, but to my surprise the barrels on these cartridges are really narrow. There not the beefy barrels of an original Cross pen refill. So, I don't expect them to last as long as those beefy Cross pen refills, a reasonable indicator as to why these are cheap. But regardless, I'll recommend them to those looking for cheap as they do the job putting ink on paper. Regards.

The only issue which needs attention!! The cartridges come with a mini wax seal on the tips. If you do not recognize this, they either will not write or will smear if you do not remove all the wax. Lucky for me I have a Jeweler's loop and could see this very well since it does take a good eye to examine the tip. I can understand their concern for freshness, etc.. but the wax presence will anger other buyers if they do not know about it or cannot deal with it. I used my nail to remove the wax but I suppose you could place the tip in hot water to soften the wax? No instructions on how to deal with this is a lapse on the sellers part.
