Perfect for interior wall application- Get 2 tunnels for 2 x 4 wall
I decided to put a cat door through my interior wall, into a closet, for my cats to use a litterbox without the dogs eating scooby snacks (gross). Previously, I had purchased the pet safe cat door and installed it into an interior door, in my previous home. It worked well, no issues, but when I sold my home I was wishing I wouldn't have ruined the door with a cat door. This time I installed through the wall, as crazy as it sounds it would be cheaper to patch repair a wall then a full door replacement. So anyway- the flap that corresponds with this tunnel is really nice so far. My cats use it without issue (they are both tri-pods) and I am glad I listened to the previous reviews about getting two of the tunnels to go through the interior wall- it's a perfect fit! just buying one would not be enough. I would buy this again and highly recommend it.

Sturdier than I expected. Work well.
With 7 cats in the house, I got tired of opening and closing doors. So I set about finding a cost effective solution to my problem. Having read a number of reviews on different products, I settled on the Cat Mate cat flap Cat Mate 4 Way Locking Cat Flap with Door Liner White , primarily because of this wall liner, which seemed sturdier than most. We have fitted one external flap and 3 internal ones. My husband seemed to have no problem fitting them - the holes on both sides of the walls matched! It took 2 additional liners for each cat flap (so 3 in total, including the one we purchased with the cat flap. We have standard walls) and we stuck them together using superglue. I also sealed around the joint with a good quality caulk. Initially, I wasn't sure if they would hold up to all the wear and tear they were going to get - but they have proven to be sturdier that I thought. I just wish they produced a double width liner, rather than having to put 2 together. This is the reason for my 4 star review, rather than 5 stars. We have now had them in place for 9 months - and they have been extensively used (as you can imagine) by 5 of the 7 cats. The other 2 will use them if I hold the flap open for them. A couple of the younger cats literally fly through the flaps at full pelt and they have stood up to this absolutely fine. They also play with the cat flap - a cat on one sides of the flap leaning though and smacking the other one. I found that my next problem became being kept awake at night with them constantly opening and closing the flap - thank goodness for the lock! I have absolutely no complaints with either the cat flaps or the liner. The magnetic strip holding the cat door shut has been effective and we have no drafts coming into the house from outside. I would buy these again and recommend to anyone.

Detailed Measurements and Info
I needed to install a Cat Mate 4 Way Locking Cat Flap with Door Liner White (Model 235W) through an internal wall of my house. I resisted buying these wall liners for a long time due to their high price for what they are. I looked at all kinds of alternatives to buying these like bending sheet metal to act as the wall liners but in the end I ended up buying these to save time and to have a nice finished appearance. The item description wasn't clear enough for me to figure out how many wall liners I needed. I purchased a Cat Mate Cat Flap with door liner so I thought I may be able to get away with buying only one wall liner. However as others have mentioned in reviews you most likely will need to buy 2 for normal interior walls in US houses. This product appears to be manufactured in England so I guess walls there are thinner. I am rating this product 5 stars because it does what it advertises and appears to be built solid. The price is what it is and I ended up buying it so I can't dock any stars for it. I am mainly writing this review to provide missing specifications from the item description so people know exactly how many wall liners they may need to buy for their project. I wish Amazon still allowed customers to upload pictures because if they did I would upload pictures of the front and back of the product box which this Amazon item product page sorely needs to eliminate a lot of confusion. The wall liner arrives in a Cat Mate box and on the front it says it is compatible with the following Cat Mate Cat Flaps: 234W, 235W, 234G, 235G, 234B, 235B. If you purchased the Cat Mat Cat Flap without the door liner then you'll need to account for that. The door liner provides about 1.5 inches. With the Cat Flap model I purchased, 1 wall liner allows for a maximum of 3 1/8 inches distance from the exterior of one wall to the exterior of the other. With 2 wall liners the maximum distance allowed from the exterior of one wall to the exterior of the other is 5 1/8 inches. When you connect the wall liners you do so through a slot and groove system. One wall liner slides into a groove in the other and the cat flap slides into the groove of the wall liner. The depth of the groove is about 1/2 inch. So there is some play where you can sort of pull out a wall liner a little bit out of the groove to buy yourself 1/8 or 2/8 inches at each slot and groove connection. So if you have 2 wall liners you could pull each liner a little out of the grooves to probably buy yourself an additional 1/2 inch of depth [2/8" (wall liner 1 into wall liner 2 groove) + 2/8" (Cat Flap into wall liner 2 groove) = 4/8" = 1/2"]. On the back of the product box the manufacturer lists how many wall liners they recommend for a given wall thickness. Here is the info from the back of the box: Wall Thickness - Liners Required* 51-99mm (2-4") - 1 101-149mm (4-6") - 2 150-199mm (6-8") - 3 200-249mm (8-10") - 4 250-299mm (10-12") - 5 * Use an additional liner for each 50mm of wall thickness

Does the job, but only wide enough for a door.
Fairly over-priced for a piece of plastic, but fits perfectly. This liner is only long enough to fit through a standard size door. It's not long enough to fit in a wall and connect to both sides. You'll most likely need two liners to go through a wall, at which point it might be too long.

Worth it for an easy passthrough for you pet.
It is so much better to add this little channel through a wall. I combined two to extend through the wall into a cat cabinet for the litter.

So happy about this product!
I placed this in my wall and it leads from my room into an outdoor litter box that I have mounted onto my exterior wall. We had to purchase 3 of them for the wall as it's much thicker than a door. I am using these with the Cat Mate cat door as well. These are working fantastic and I really have no complaints other than it's a little bit wiggly and loose (but only if I manhandle it.) The only thing is I originally wanted to purchase the larger cat door but then there was no compatible wall liner for that size. It's fine because my cats are a little bit on the smaller side (7 and 8 lbs) so the regular door is ok. I can't imagine someone with larger cats wanting to do this project though because the wall liners wouldn't be compatible! The cats are able to get in and out perfectly well though, so for me this is perfect. This has definitely saved my life with the DIY outdoor litter box!

just not pretty..
In my zoo of a house (two dogs, five cats), we had to arrange to start keeping the cats in the basement on days I couldn't get home for lunch so we could leave the dog door open for the dogs. We would have it open all the time except for one of our cats can jump a six-foot fence. We decided to install a cat door on an interior wall next to the door to the basement so they would be able to pass back and through at will (we've moved the cat litter and food to the basement) but we could "lock them in" when we were going to be gone all day. I ordered the Cat Mate 4 Way Locking Cat Flap with Door Liner White (Model 235W) and one of these wall liners. The wall is your average 2x4 wall and it should have fit; however, for some strange reason that escapes me, the building had used 5/8" drywall rather than your normal 1/2" that is the industry standard today. Had they used 1/2", the liner would have just barely fit and I could have gotten by. As it is, I could have jury-rigged something but I wanted it to look professional (I can make things functional...just not pretty...ask my wife about my mad painting skills). Either way, if you plan on using this on an interior wall, you should go ahead and order two just to be sure and if you don't need the second one, you can always return it. We are planning on putting another one in upstairs to the master bedroom. When she and I first moved in together, I "laid down the law" and said no dogs on the bed. This will allow the cats to go back and forth. You know, I think that was the last time I was ever able to lay down the law...

Useful cat flap wall liners
These extension sections were handy for building the cat door through the external wall. They're good quality plastic

Closer Pets SPACER for wall door
I did buy two after reading the reviews, in our case we only needed one, this wall is actually accessing our crawl space, so maybe it isn’t as thick. It’s great! We’re happy with it cause our cat is happy with it. I just need to return one of them haha

Tunnel
De tunnel past niet bij het luik als hij moet op maat gebracht worden. Het frame is dan te dik en komt niet overheen het frame van het luik.

Doesn't fit the model 630 cat door.
Amazon likes to suggest this as "frequentely bought together with" the cat Mate elite chip cat door... Or what ever. Model 630. Problem is, they don't fit together, and so far I haven't been able to get hold of the correct tunnel extension.

Soddisfatto
Il costo del tunnel è elevato, ma mi ha permesso di risparmiare tempo di manodopera.
