Fitvids 2" Olympic Bumper Plate Weight Plates with Steel Hub, 55LB, Pair

These plates are exactly what is advertised. A Mid tier plate and often less than $1 per lbs. the smell described by others is true but gone after an overnight in the garage, nothing compared to stall mats. These are not Rogue or Rep bumpers, and at the price you shouldn’t expect it but they perform well above their cost and will do well for probably 90% of home gym folks. While I use my gear I don’t abuse it so YMMV.

First of all, took a week to lose most of their strong rubber smell. I think after 2 weeks there was no more noticeable smell. I was worried about how accurate the weights were but the price made me willing to take a risk. I weighed them on a scale and they were surprisingly accurate. Nothing crazy but non of my 6 pairs were more than 2% off from their listed weight. The worst one was a 55lb plate weighing 54.0lbs. So from my small sample size, they are accurate enough for the price.

They are heavy. Sure do feel like 55 pounds each. A little wider than what I was expecting. They do have a strong odor to them. But for the price I can deal with it.

I almost didn't purchase this 370-pound set because of a couple of the reviews. I figured it was a safe gamble due to the Amazon return policy on this product, so I went ahead and gave it a shot. It took about two weeks after I had ordered the set before I received it. Everything but the barbell was packaged very well. I had read reviews in which the weights were inaccurate. We measured and weighed each plate upon unpackaging. Each was very accurate (e.g. 25-pound plates measured 25.0-pounds each). Reviews also mentioned the smell. That is accurate -- there is that new vinyl-plastic smell emitting from these plates. We left a window open in our workout area and kept a fan running for a few days. It's just a strong "new" smell. I'd definitely but more plates from this group. Everything turned out great. Very pleased.

For less than a dollar per lb for 55’s shipped to my door this was a great purchase. They’ve held up just fine and are about the same size as my rogue hg 45s. Smelled a bit like cigarettes upon arrival but after a few months that’s gone away. Very happy with the quality and price for 110lbs delivered.

First and most importantly, the 55 lbs plates do come as a pair! It wasn’t entirely clear from the listing, so I was worried the whole time I was getting a really bad deal instead of a really good one. But that said, I did get two of them, in the same package. It was marked “sold as a set, do not open.” These things are huge! I opened the package on the stoop and carried them in individually. See the photos for a comparison with a non-coated, 35 lbs weight plate. They’re a little over 3 inches wide and 17.5 inches high. That’s fine, just make sure the sleeve of your barbell can accommodate as much weight as you’re lifting. A full-size Olympic barbell usually has a loadable single-side sleeve length of 16+ inches (about five of these plates per side, for a total of 550 lbs). A five-foot barbell usually has a loadable sleeve length of 9.75 inches (3 of these plates per side, a total of 330 lbs on the bar). The plates came in a cardboard package, bound together by plastic shipping cables, with a plastic bag around each of them inside the box. I haven’t noticed any rubber odor, and there was no oiliness/shipping grease on the plates themselves.
