The timing couldn't have been better, as I just purchased a new car and felt it deserved the latest in dash cam technology. The IQ Smart Dash Cam not only delivers on performance but also on design, with its sleek and screen-less design. Setting up the Nextbase IQ Dash Cam was a breeze, thanks to the user-friendly IQ app and convenient QR code scanning. I opted to connect it via the OBD port in my car, a process made easier by double-checking the port location beforehand. The IQ app impressed me with its slick interface and informative features, earning top marks in usability. Opting for the Protect Plus subscription was a no-brainer for me, as it offers a host of premium features like live view and notifications for just £9.99 a month. Living in an area with only on-street parking, having the added security and peace of mind knowing my vehicle is protected and monitored remotely is invaluable. Adjusting the motion detection settings in the app initially required some fine-tuning, but once optimized, it worked flawlessly. The 2K recording capabilities of the Nextbase IQ Dash Cam truly capture every detail, while the inbuilt Cabin View adds an extra layer of convenience for reviewing footage on the go. However, the standout feature for me is the Live View functionality. Being able to remotely check on my car provides unparalleled peace of mind, and I've experienced no connectivity issues thus far. I've been using this as while now and although the quality is decent I'm finding it less and less reliable. You have to pay a monthly subscription for the online features, some of which aren't enabled yet and are "coming soon". I've always found these is a lag between notifications, so I can go out to my car, get what I need from it, get back in the house and then the notification arrives. As you can imagine, using it to monitor someone around your car has limitations as if the windows are covered in ice or condensation then you won't see anything, it's definitely limited for this feature. Recently though I'm getting bouts of it locking up, several times I've gone to look at footage only to find several days of recording are missing. This isn't what you want from a dashcam, there would be nothing worse than having an accident and finding you've got no footage because the camera had frozen. I've had several nextbase cams over the years and none have experienced this. I would also like to be able to disable the internal camera when driving and only have it enabled when it's in parking mode, so just be aware if you don't want you and your passengers being recorded you have to enable privacy mode by voice every time you get in the car. It does have some good features but I'd be hard pushed to recommend it given the issues I've been having It also now turns out that unless you have a subscription, there is no way to view videos on the device unless you pull the SD card out. So if you are in an accidents, you have to wait to get home to view the video. Without a subscription, this camera has less functionality than a cheap nextbase camera. I can't recommend anyone buying this

This feature not only provides evidence for insurance claims but also peace of mind when parking in less secure locations. The sensors are responsive and the camera’s ability to start recording quickly is commendable. Additionally, the dash cam performs well in poorly lit parking areas, overall great and will recommend! Before any of this, you’ll need a subscription. Can’t see your live views without subscribing.

Très bon concept, c'est vraiment dommage 😔 que l'application soit buggée. Et leur service après-vente est inexistant 😡 En détails : je suis les instructions d'installation à la lettre et je ne parviens pas à me connecter en wifi. Le mieux que j'ai obtenu, c'est l'écran partagé pendant une demi-seconde et le message : Une erreur est survenue. Veuillez réessayer plus tard 🙄

Great idea and promises of AI road watch which still haven’t materialised. Execution falls down - lots of connection errors. Seems to go wrong when you most need it. SOS system is often showing a red light because it cannot connect. Loses connection with rear camera.

Vorab muss ich sagen, dass die Nextbase iQ nicht meine erste Dashcam ist und ich schon seit vielen Jahren mit Dashcams fahre. Daher kann ich auf viel Erfahrung zurückgreifen und gut einschätzen, worauf es bei einer Dashcam ankommt. Die iQ wird in einer sehr schönen Verpackung geliefert - so wird bereits das Auspacken zu einem Erlebnis. Die Installation im Fahrzeug ist wirklich "easy going". Hier haben die Jungs von Nextbase tolle Arbeit geleistet und es dem Nutzer so leicht wie möglich gemacht. Die Nextbase iQ - App erklärt jeden einzelnen Schritt sehr verständlich und gut bebildert. Der "Einbau" ohne sichtbare Kabel ist somit innerhalb von wenigen Minuten erledigt. Nun zur Performance. Was mir wirklich überrascht hat, ist die Bildqualität. Hier war ich bereit mit der 622GW sehr "verwöhnt", aber die iQ - Videos empfinde ich als noch realistischer und natürlicher. Details wie Nummernschilder und Verkehrszeichen stellen die iQ vor keine Herausforderung - selbst bei Dämmerung oder schlechteren Lichtverhältnissen. Was mich aber absolut flasht sind die zahlreichen Features, die ich bisher in noch keiner Dashcam gefunden hatte. Das Smart-Sense-Parking bringt den Parkmodus nochmal auf ein anders Level. Die iQ verfügt über einen Bewegungssensor und man kann sogar den Empfindlichkeitsradius einstellen - frei nach dem Motto "Gib Parkremplern & Vandalismus keine Chance" lässt sich das Auto perfekt schützen. Man erhält eine Benachrichtigung auf das Smartphone und hat die Möglichkeit sich per Live-View ein Bild des Geschehens zu machen - egal wo man gerade ist. Weltklasse! Den Guardian-Mode finde ich auch spannend - vor allem, wenn mein Junior sich mein Auto mal leihen sollte. Aber das dauert ja zum Glück noch ein wenig ;-) Denn dank Guardian-Mode kann man auch aus der Ferne die "Kontrolle" über das Fahrzeug behalten. Es können Parameter wie Geschwindigkeit oder Geofencing eingestellt werden. Sollten diese Parameter überschritten werden, bekommt man eine Benachrichtigung. Features wie E-Call oder Zeugenmodus runden die Dashcam ab. Neben den Features finde ich super, dass man mit der iQ sein Fahrzeug mit 360° rundum schützen kann. Standardmäßig verfügt die iQ über eine Front- und Innenraumkamera. Und wem das nicht genug ist, der kann sich noch die Heckscheibenkamera kaufen. Einziger Wermutstropfen - wenn es diesen überhaupt gibt, ist das Abo. Aber auf Grund der Tatsache, dass hier eine eSim-Karte verbaut ist, ist das ja logisch und nachvollziehbar. Durch die eSim-Karte hat man eben die Möglichkeit des Live-Views, Benachrichtigungen auf das Telefon und es werden die Videos sicher in einer Cloud gespeichert werden und sind somit auch vorhanden sind, selbst wenn die Dashcam aus dem Fahrzeug gestohlen wurde. Aber der Schutz meines Fahrzeugs sind mir die paar Euros definitiv wert und lohnen sich.  Kurzes Fazit: Für mich ist die iQ die perfekte Dashcam und eine klare Kaufempfehlung!

Good product. Working as expected. The subscription has to be cancelled as was not very useful for live view in Spain or France. Video was choppy and streaming very slow mostly the times. Nevertheless event based notification were top. The camera system is bit bulky as partially blocked the view though. But for the quality and price performance, this is probably best in the market for personal requirements.
