It's a bit dated but a good basic guide for cooking Italian food from scratch.

Another older but wonderful cookbook from the late Biba. Haven’t found my other cherished Biba cookbooks since a recent downsizing move, but still have hopes! This one has a great variety of homemade and store bought pastas recipes and interesting risottos, always with her ever helpful side tips. Cookbook was sold as new with sealed clear wrapping but had signs otherwise - a few soiled/stuck pages and yellowing and creased cover. Decided to keep it, but should not have been sold at the $30 price of a “new” book from shipping seller. Five stars for Biba’s recipes!

Like most books on pasta, recipe ingredients are hard to find.

Biba's Restaurant in Sacramento was my favorite when I lived there. Biba's recipes are simple & delicious. I just made the chicken broth listed in this book, & I was a little wary about tomatoes in the recipe. It came out FABULOUS! My only critique is that there is no recipe in the book for the gorgeous pasta photographed on the cover. I called the restaurant, & they agreed it looks like bucatini & probably in Puttanesca sauce.

Biba Caggiano seems less well known than many other fine Italian cooks and food writers, yet her books are chock full of fine recipes and Italian cooking lore. Recently, I turned my hand to making home-made egg pasta. I found that her recipes are clear and the wonderfully imaginative. For those who like pasta the way Italians cook it, this book will not disappoint.

This is the best Italian cookbook money can buy! The recipes are simple and are always delicious. I bought two copies and gave them to some newly married friends. If you are a single girl looking to land your Italian boyfriend, then I recommend buying this book and cooking him a few dinners. I'm convinced that is how I landed my sexy Italian husband...Thanks Biba!

I love this cookbook, every recipe I have made has been wonderful and has received raving reviews from my guests. There are a few ingredients in her recipes for items that are not available in my local grocery stores, but Biba does offer more common substitutes. I have made almost every recipe and haven't crossed one off the page yet, they are also easy and not complicated.

Another great book by Biba Caggiano - I have her Spaghetti Sauces book and loved that one so much, I got this one by her as well. It has so many varieties of Risotto, it could be a book on its own. And then sections for fresh vs packaged pasta, I can't wait to try more and more of them. My ONLY criticism of this book is that there is only a small section of pictures. As I am becoming a big fan of her recipes already, I will trust the recipe more than I usually would. One day I hope to visit her restaurant in California...mmm

I originally had this book but lent it. It went missing so to find it on Amazon was exhilarating.I have been a fan of Biba's ever since she was a guest of Dr Leo Buscaglia. She is a great cook. This is not the only book i have of hers.
