PlexiCam Road Warrior Mini - Center Screen Webcam Holder/Mount, Position Any Webcam, Anywhere, on Any Screen… (for Laptops in Need of an LED Light)

I have a 27" iMac and the built-in camera is far above my eyes when I'm using it for video calls. I eventually bought a Logitech Brio and a scissor mount but the mount takes up too much room on my desk and consistently blocks key areas of my screen. I was then going to buy one of the "center cam" style cameras, but it sounded as if the camera quality was going to be much worse than my built in camera or the Brio. When I found the PlexiCam mount I was a little skeptical, but figured it was worth a try. The product arrived in a well-packaged box, and included nice extras like a plexiglass wire clip to keep the camera cord from flailing all over my screen. The mount is made of thick, beautifully finished, high quality plexiglass like you'd expect if you were buying something made of the same material from a high-end home design store. It's not the type of cheap acrylic you'd expect on a lower-end mass-market product, and when I saw it I understood why it's not selling for $29.99. It took less than five minutes to set up, and works great on my iMac. You obviously lose the small screen area the Brio covers, but other than that, everything is easily visible and not distorted by the mount. The light is good quality and is a nice addition since it's integrated well with the mount. One caveat: Because it's plexiglass it can get scratched if you are not careful. They warn you to be careful when fitting/adjusting it, and you do have to be somewhat cautious. That said, once it's fitted/adjusted there should not be much, if any, need to do anything that would cause a scratch. I tend to prefer spending a little more for a high quality product than going for the least expensive option, and I feel that the PlexiCam is a fairly value at it's price point given how well made it is and how effective the design is.

Every image of this product on the page includes a camera and nowhere on the page does it state that the camera is not included. Here is text from the produce details. "PlexiCam provides everything you need, including top-notch service to make sure you always look great!" No it doesn't. It doesn't include a camera. "PlexiCam is an ideal webcam teleprompter; no bulky equipment, use any monitor, and look like a pro." This sentence is also misleading. It is not an idea webcam teleprompter. it's just a holder, no teleprompter included. It's also overpriced for what is essentially a bit of acrylic and an inexpensive LED light. And here's the kicker, it is not refundable. There are better, less expensive options available.
