When you say you "have a RM228", do you mean that the magnetron in your oven is that number or that you ordered that number. I don't know what the other number is. Is that a second number on the magnetron? When I installed mine, it was a very straight forward installation. Simply replace it and hook up the wires.

the recycle value is found near the value of what they might call shred - ferrous Metal - (steel, tin,) not very much in recyclable value.I think the going price for shred price is about .08 - .10 per pound!

Good choice for a fix

This device worked right out of the box, no issues to report. Everything plugged in like the defective one I replaced. Sure was less expensive than a new microwave (and they don't really cost much anymore.
