I have been a Cyber Security professional for over 14 years, and I would like to share my honest opinion about the book "CompTIA Security+ SY0-701 Certification Guide 3rd edition" by Ian Neil, published by Packt. I find it superior to other books in the same category, as it covers every IT security concept with depth, breadth and clarity. It also captures the current state of the digital world and the threats it faces. Here are some reasons why this book is a valuable resource for any IT Security practitioner: 1. Domain 1 and Domain 2 lay a strong groundwork for anyone who wants to start from the basics of IT Security. Every concept is defined in simple terms, along with its importance, examples and real world applications. 2. The author excelled in Domain 3 "Security Architecture". He contrasted different modern architectures such as microservices, serverless, cloud etc. and analyzed the various security issues they entail. He also enriched them with scenarios, strategies of resiliency and recovery. 3. Domain 4 is very helpful for those who are new to Security Operations. It encompasses a broad spectrum of security prevention and detection methods, as well as Security Orchestration and Response. Many authors overlook this vital part. 4. Domain 5 is crucial for anyone to learn about the essence of IT security governance and different audit types. Every organization, from small to large scale, needs to comply with relevant global regulatory and compliance standards. The author did a great job in this section as well.

I'm delighted to share that I passed the SY0-701 exam on the first attempt, thanks entirely to this outstanding resource—despite having absolutely no background in security! Ian has produced three online mock exams of 75 questions so you can measure if you are ready, giving you the look and feel of the real exam, making sure you are ready to spend $404 on booking an exam - The material is written well and very engaging. - All material covered in the book fills the knowledge and/or extend further for the scope of the Security+ 701 certification exam. - The wording is easy to understand. - When reading the material, it is straight and to the point with no fluff. - Read, study, take quizzes, then review why you answered incorrectly - do this and understand the basic concept then expect to leave the testing center certified. - The formatting is understandable and makes sense with the sequence it is in. Cons (none - I am very satisfied with the material the author presents in this "GEM" of a book).

Excelente recurso para aprobar el examen. Recomiendo encarecidamente se consulte y se resuelva el material en línea. Personalmente, lo tomaría como mi recurso principal de estudio para abordar el examen y, dependiendo la seguridad que uno tenga en los temas y el desempeño en los exámenes muestra en línea y al final de cada capítulo, consideraria o no consultar o comprar material adicional. Sin miedo a los PBQ y buena suerte a todos.
