In a futuristic society, a 15-year-old prostitute named Rune Balot is rescued after being nearly killed. She is subconsciously given the choice to continue living due to an emergency ordinance to preserve life called Mardock Scramble 09. Turned into a cyborg, Balot is then given the choice of assisting the investigations against the man who tried to terminate her. He is part of the powerful October corporation that is stealthily conducting illegal activities.

Hope you like casino's in Anime
Fantastic story across the trilogy. Just don't expect someting exactly like Ghost in the shell. As the trilogy progresses by the middle, it focuses quite a bit on gambling in a casino. The cybernetic augments gets a tad bit unnecessary throughout. Outside of having a reason our Protagonist is alive.

Clever ... Fantastic animation ... Great ... for adults more than kids but that depends from person to person but mentioning it. Watch it if you have any interest in anime ... get it anyway to show what Anime can be and do.

the box claims this stands as a cyberpunk classic alongside ghost in the shell and blade runner, it lies.The low point of this film is when rune is attacked by a 20 breasted man, an exploading midget and a man who grafts lady parts onto his hands.

Second only to Ghost in the Shell films!
Mardock Scramble film trilogy is maybe the best place to enjoy a Cyberpunk scenario if you enjoy hard SF like GITS films. Yea it's about cyborg bodies, advanced technologies and futuristic societies. One thing that you will notice is that the director is not in a rush, he makes sure he sets up the background firmly, (having in mind each film is about 1 hour approx) before he jumps into action. Action scenes and dialogue have been designed both with great detail and of equal importance. It's food for thought and a visual treat at the same time. The visual/story style brings also some older classic scifi animes into mind, Gungrave and Texhnolyze, if you ve seen them you will understand.All 3 films include the DC version as well, which is a bit longer than the theatrical version. The first film's DC version is only in Japanese and the rest 2 in both English and Japanese. I watched it subbed and loved it but i hear that the English dub is also good. All audio is 5.1 DTS MA. The first disc has also audio for IT, NED and FR as well.One more thing is that it's 18 rating and absolutely not for children, the story is for mature audience.Grabbing 3 films for this price is also an extra plus! Enjoy XD
