Remember when there were only 3 channels?
And the tv stations went off the air overnight after playing the national anthem? Those days are long gone. I picked up 62 channels on this antenna. 20 that didn’t get put on the soil channel list. If you're looking to cut the cord or simply expand your channel options, the GE Amplified HD Digital TV Antenna is a worthy investment, ease of installation, the quality of reception and the variety of channels it captures make this antenna a fantastic choice for any TV. Highly recommended! I purchased one for myself, one for my mother and I’m going to be ordering a second one for her other tv because this one pulled in more channels then the different brand one she has. Ease of Setup: - Installation was straightforward, and the flexibility of the design allowed me to get creative. I placed the antenna outside, sandwiched between the window and the screen. The cord is thin enough to close the window without affecting the weather seal, which is a brilliant feature for those looking for a minimal footprint installation. Normally it can sit on top of the tv and isn’t distracting like some of the new odd shaped ones you have likely seen on here. Performance: - Even with my unconventional setup, the antenna's performance has been stellar. It picks up a wide array of channels, including HD signals, with minimal interference. The built-in amplifier ensures that even the weaker signals are boosted to a watchable quality, making the most out of its strategic yet subtle placement.

Works good in Bucks County PA (outside Philadelphia)
I'm a recent cord cutter and have been trying out a few different HD antenna models. This one looked appealing to me because of the sleek design for TV attachment and potential to avoid any wall mounts & visible wires. I live in Bucks County PA outside of Philadelphia. I was only interested in getting the main local channels from the antenna (3,6,10,17,29,57 - ABC/NBC/CBS/FOX/etc) but this antenna was actually able to find over 30 channels for me! I did see better results from this antenna on the main & upstairs floors compared to the basement. In the basement, I was able to still get around 30 channels but 6-ABC and 10-NBC were not as easy to get. I couldn't just place antenna on top of TV, would have to move it higher on the ceiling to get it but that defeats the purpose of this model design. I've only been using it for a few days so far but the picture quality for HD is really good too, doesn't look much visibly different than picture from a HD Fios box. I've mostly been watching sports (NFL playoffs) and I'm extremely satisfied with the picture quality. The only obvious tip to give is to read the instructions with the antenna. Simply plugging in the antenna and going to channel doesn't work. I tried this first and got nervous when nothing was found. The instructions indicate that you must connect the antenna and run a channel scan from the TV in order to find the channels. After doing this, the 30+ channels were found. Setup and install of this model is easy and only takes about 5-10 minutes. It is small and light and attaches to the TV with a clamp in a few seconds without any tools. The antenna connects to the TV thru a provided coax cable, about 6 feet I'd estimate. The amplifier connects to the antenna thru coax cable (provided) and is also pretty small, about the size of a travel tissue package. The amplifier needs a power connection which is provided for plug in to outlet. On this model, the amplifier MUST get the power source from an outlet. I've seen other antennas that allow the amplifier to connect to a USB port on the TV for power which is really nice if the TV is not located near an available outlet but this model DOES NOT have this feature. The antenna, amplifier, and all provided coax in my set were black. In all, I do prefer the discrete look and easy setup of this antenna type over the panel antennas that mount to the wall but what really matters are the # of channels found and picture quality. I went with a hybrid approach in the end using this antenna for my main floor and upstairs TVs while using the panel antenna type in the basement. A good resource to try in your area is nocable.org which allows you to enter your zip code and see a list of channels that should be available and even recommends an antenna model that may work best for your area.

Works Well, Low Profile
This antenna works just as well for me as the other flat square ones that require thumb tacking to the wall. I do have to adjust where it sits on top of the TV depending on what station I am tuning into, and there is interference some days that prevent seamless watching. However my TV does not sit near any windows and is in a low spot of the home. I really like the low profile look and that's the primary reason for purchase-nothing uglier than a random antenna mounted with a coax cable strung across your room. I am sure their are better options out there, but for me this works.

Best antenna for broadcast television
I got this awesome antenna to replace my hideous rabbit ears that I had to put in a window to get proper reception. This sits right on top of the flatscreen, has a nice glossy black finish to it, and it's hardly noticeable. It almost looks like a part of the TV, if you didn't know better. With the amplifier plugged in, it pulled in over 125 channels, but I live in a major metro area. A lot of those channels are in Spanish, Korean or Chinese. All the major broadcast channels like CBS, Fox, NBC, ABC, and the CW come in clearly. This is truly the best antenna I've owned, and it's a relief that someone designed it to replace rabbit ears that are so ugly and often don't work well even with digital broadcast signals. This works far better than my rabbit ear antenna. This antenna also pulls in VHF and UHF rather than only UHF, which is important because there are still stations broadcasting in VHF in most cities. I highly recommend this antenna above all other indoor TV antennas. There's another brand with this same design, but I chose the GE model because the reviews indicated that other brand was cheaply built and got bad reception. Also, it only had a range of 50 miles, whereas this has a range of 55 miles, theoretically.
