5 star cable 4 stars for my use case
To start, I'm not using this cable for the Micro Studio Camera. I'm using the cable for a USB hub connected to a 100ft USB optical cable. I've given the product 5 stars because it is a good cable but I wish they had a female connection instead of a male to male because of my use case. The cable appears to working at advertised speeds and the screw....screws. It would have been nice to have a philips head instead of a flat head screw, which would make it easier to screw in but I swapped a philips head from an OWC cling on and it worked perfectly.

Nice quality locking cable
Please see my disclaimer for Vine provided items at the end of this review. This is a nice quality locking cable. The outer shielding is PVC, but the cable is still reasonably flexible.I am not using this for the designed purpose of connecting to a Blackmagic camera. I have an custom application where I wanted the extra security and reliability of a locking cable that can be screwed into my device. For those wondering, the screw size is M2 x 0.5mm thread. If you want to embed a threaded insert or nut into a project, this cable would be perfect for such an application. For the speed rating, I do not have any devices capable of 20Gbps. I did however test it with a few USB docking hubs that are 10Gbps, and I had no issues with transmission speed or video feed.I wish more devices would implement the M2 threaded insert for using these locking cables. I do not like how thin and fragile the USB-C connector is, being used for devices that really need a more robust connector (hello laptop users). Even portable data drives would greatly benefit from being able to lock the cable onto the storage device.Price is reasonable for such an uncommon cable. Understandably this product is designed for a very specific application. I would like to see the cable offered in other lengths though.Price: $12.99 (at time of order)Quality: GoodValue: ReasonableVine Review Program Disclaimer:My goal as a reviewer, as part of the Vine program, is to provide clear and informant feedback on product details that matter to YOU. frees up my rig
I picked up this XLCS locking USB C cable for my Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 and it does exactly what I wanted. The locking screw secures it to the port so it cannot get pulled out by accident when I move the rig. That alone makes recording to an SSD way less stressful.Transfer speeds are solid. It is rated for 20 Gbps and I have had no issues with dropped frames or power delivery when recording directly. The build feels sturdy and the length is right for keeping the rig tidy without extra slack. It is a simple cable but it solves the problem of unreliable connections during a shoot. For anyone using the BMMSC 4K G2 with external storage, this is a must have.

Hits its data transfer mark reliably
This XLCS Locking USB-C Cable works exactly as advertised, delivering high-speed data transfer that keeps up with the demands of Blackmagic Cameras. The locking mechanism doesn’t quite fit with my Pocket 6k's Tilta cage, but I’ve seen plenty of other reviews saying it works perfectly with the camera it’s designed for, so I can’t really fault it for that. Overall, it’s a solid, durable cable that gets the job done. Highly recommended if you need dependable connectivity for your Blackmagic cinema camera.

fast charging and fast data transfer
This is a USBC to USBC cable, intended for blackmagic camera. While it's not braided which I generally prefer, the cable is strong and sturdy. I have 20gbps port on the computer and nvme enclosure. Transferring files was fast, then I tested charging which was also pretty quick. If you experience slowness, likely you don't have 20gbps capable port on your computer.

Great small cable
Works great for more than just black magic. It does have the screw lock, which is nice but I tested it with a video capture device, and external hard drive. It worked great, high speeds and power needs. I like the small size because it helps with certain situations where you don't need a lot of extra cables. The cable feels really well made and fits snuggly in the USBC Port.

works great as a normal cable
If you're mainly concerned about using this as a normal data cable, it works great. I tested using a 3.2 nvme enclosure, and got the advertised 20Gbs transfer rate. It's kind a short, and thick, so its not the most flexible, but it defintely gets the job done as far as data transfer goes. As far as the screw, i like that its captured, so you dont hjave to worry about it falling out by unscrewing it too much and losing it.

Fits Micro Studio G2 (and others) well
Works perfectly normal as a USB-C cable, and the locking feature mates well with the Studio cameras from Blackmagic. No issues.
