Sturdy rack, inexpensive, builds easily. Just as described.
I purchased this stereo shelf as a temporary solution until I build my own custom shelving system. This rack has delayed my project because it works so well, and it is not horrible to look at, either. It builds quite easily, all parts were included, is incredibly sturdy and will more than likely hold more weight than you would want to put on a sub 100 dollar stereo shelf. It holds my AV receiver and 2 amplifiers with ample space above each for proper ventilation. The rack is sturdy enough that I experience no feedback and am able to safely keep my turn-table on top. My only request for the manufacturer would be the option to have 2 'large' shelves, rather than just the one. I plan to add an additional power amp soon, and don't know where it's going to live quite yet. For under 100, you can't go wrong. If you're considering it, go for it. You will be happy. Arrived quickly, also.

Simple no nonsense rack.
Great product. Easy to put together. My 7 and 5 year old put it together in about 10 min. Great for a carpeted dedicated home theater with the included spikes. Very heavy duty.

Great Audio Rack
The Monolith audio rack is a great piece of equipment at a reasonable price. It is very sturdy and easy to assemble in less than 30 minutes. The fit and finish is above average. There is one set of uprights that are slightly longer than the others - the instructions show them being used between the top and first shelves, but they can be used between any two shelves if you want. The only tool I found useful was a rubber mallet. To assemble the feet, you have insert a threaded cap for the carpet spikes into the bottom of each foot. It is a tight fit. I found using a mallet to tap the cap into the leg was a lot easier than trying to push it in with my hands.

Satisfied for the cost.
Monoprice products have been reliable for me so I opted for this model as it seemed to be a cost effective solution for my intended purpose. Assembly is self explanatory and simple, but tedious. Make a cup of coffee and prepare to sit for an hour twisting the left assemblies into place. Pro Tip No. 253: Level the stand prior to placing your stereo equipment on it (it's going to require more than one attempt anyhow... ) Resorted to Google and found an audiophile site where a user recommended leveling the front two legs first then a third leg on the rear (either left or right) then it becomes short work to bring the fourth leg into balance. This approach worked for me, YMMV. The construction is solid and I'm confident in it. That said - it is fabricated material and does not have either the aesthetic feel or appearance of wood. I've not yet marked it up, but it is not scratch resistant. I opted for this item when it occurred to me the legacy stereo equipment I was pressing into service was not vintage, merely old (1983 Technics) and did I really want to spend nearly twice twice as much on my next choice? With an eye towards the future I do have a slight regret at not making another choice. I'm using the included pegs on a carpeted floor which is long overdue for replacement. I'm probably opt for some coasters to place underneath when the inevitable home improvement occurs and the carpet is upgraded. I did try a set of casters on the stand as an interim step. While they fit accordingly (AAGUT 1.5" Swivel Stem Casters Wheels with Brake Lock Screwed Bolt 3/8"-16x1", Heavy Duty PU Rubber Wheels, 4 Packs with Nut) they did not seem to be a good idea when using a turntable, i.e. they introduced too much wobble, so I promptly abandoned the idea and returned them In summary, it's a quality product for the cost and it serves my intended purpose well. I'm again enjoying my legacy vinyl collection - and adding to it as any collector would. I do see myself upgrading the 'vintage' stereo to something modern and more capable at which point I may reassess this purchase, but for today I'm pleased.

Good looking, great value
I'm using this to hold all of my console development hardware and keep my desk from becoming a disaster. It has done the job wonderfully. Very easy to assemble, solid (I'm not using the spikes jfyi), and good looking. Well worth the money, I will probably buy another to use with actual audio equipment in another room.

THE CURVED SIDE GOES AGAINST THE WALL
I like the curved-in shelf design it allows space for the hookup-cables and speaker wires so you can set the stand close or against a wall, and I needed it to hug the wall, and it does. I guess if you don`t set it against the wall it would look more stylish with the curved part out. The stand was easy to assemble with no tools required, but if you have weakness in your hands you might use one of those rubber grip helpers, and an adjustable wrench for the spike feet. Sturdy design each shelf holds 75 Lb.. The stand has Low vibration spike feet, you might be able to level the stand with the spikes, but I have not tried that, my turntable can be leveled with it`s feet so I just did that. The stand is a good value for the price. The only con I can think of is that the kit did not include coasters for the spikes to use on hard floors ( I left them off anyway for my carpeted floor so I could slide the unit out from time to time).

If your looking for the best audio rack you can get for under 300 dollars your search is over!
This isn't my first time purchasing a Monoprice/Monolith product and again i was blown away by the quality and what you get for the price.First of all i want to give a thumbs up to Monoprice also for the way they pack theyre products.Wow what a great job you do guys.Everything is so well protected in the box and stored so perfectly inside the big box.Every item is securely tucked inside theyre own seperate small carton boxes or plastic bags that wrap around each items. It assures that nothing gets scratched or damaged.I also love the very easy and simple one-sheet visual layout instructions that comes with theyre products.it's so simple and straight to the point and it makes it very easy to assemble just with one simple instruction sheet.By the way this audio rack looks even better in person than some of the pictures make it look.As with all other monolith products it's very sturdy.Built to last and made like a tank lol.No but seriously it's solid. There is another version of this rack that exist called XL version and i think that version has shelves that are a bit thicker i guess for more heavier equipment but for most people the regular version rack will be absolutely good enough. The shelves are made of MDF but it's the thick strong type. And there is a black satin paint finish on it that looks gorgeous. The bars holding the shelves are strong metal.Once assemble this shelve isnt going anywhere. You dont need to worry about it falling down. Its very solid and doesn't wobble. It's also quite heavy for an audio rack wich should give you a good indication that its quality. This audio rack look just as good or better as other racks that are often around 500 dollars.Plus other racks are made of tempered glass.Sure that can look nice but i dont trust anything thats made with glass to last forever.Anyways if you want outstanding value for money go with this monolith audio rack you wont be dissapointed. It has everything you want in an audio rack. Its solid.its well made. Its MDF and steel. It looks fabulous. And the price is outstanding for what you get.
