Rake's Honour: A sizzling, humorous matchmaking Regency Romance (Scandalous Miss Brightwell Series Book 1)

Terrible,
The first chapters were promising, but after that, yeuk yeuk yeuk. The heroine was desperate not to be sold off by her mother to a lecherous rich man and was attracted to a stranger chance met at a masquerade. He was noble and rich, naturally, and fancied her as well, but gasp, she was a willing participant in foreplay so obviously a doxy. Did they speak to each other, find out what their characters and personalities were like? Well no because thereād be no book otherwise so each chapter had alternative agonising about the others motives and descriptions of either imagined sex, or actual fumbling. Tedious stuff. The supporting characters were cardboard cutouts whose motives and views changed throughout depending on what the author needed to move this thin story along. Did not enjoy this at all, and am annoyed with myself for finishing it, what possessed me to think it would get better? Yes, novels are not going to be completely like real life but the romance should be realistic, and based on more than lust. Certainly another author to avoid. Just wish Amazon would provide a facility to do so, it would help when searching for something to read.

worth a read
Steamy and passionate, although I was unsettled by fannys acquiescence to her old repulsive betrothed lord slyther. A good light hearted read, although I was disappointed at times with both fannys and fentons behaviour and lack of regard, but I suppose it's a good books job to make you feel emotions and care one way or the other

I really hate it when the author does not research enough understand that an earl is not the same as a duke.Rather rambling at times and boring
