It's Bubba, but it's no shrimp
I was not a believer.I'm from Boston. Nobody says Bubba up here unless it's re: Forrest Gump. But, all over Trip Advisor, one cup brand stood out, and no, it wasn't the Holy Grail. The humble Bubba mug was the subject of many a topic. Some folks say they don't belong at an all inclusive resort -- other protested and said that it was the best way to get your money's worth.Well, I'm cheap as hell, and wanted to get my money's worth -- or rather, my boyfriend's money's worth -- out of my recent all-inclusive resort stay. Thanks to this mug, I could have 5+ mugs of pina colada a day, and there was not a damn thing anyone could do stop me -- until last call.My boyfriend recently took me on vacation to the Dominican Republic. The resort we went to had paper cups -- not conducive to drinking beer lazily on the beach, sipping pina coladas poolside, or getting crunk on five fingers of Malibu Rum while swimming during a foam party. That's where the Bubba Mug came in.My boyfriend is a beer drinker. I like frozen cocktails. We both got this same mug, in two different colors, so we could easily tell who had what. We were both VERY happy with our purchases. Neither of us tasted the metal used in the mug at all. There was no nasty flavor or aftertaste or anything. If you are someone who likes straws, do not rely on your resort to provide them. Some resorts are no longer providing straws, while others are using junky straws that crack easily, and, if you get a large mug like this...it's understandable a resort would not have a straw long enough to suit your needs.Just as I needed a mug, so too did I need a straw, and once again, Bubba provided.I purchased the silicone Bubba straws (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073G4PPJR/) and these fit in the mugs perfectly. Those straws are a solid 4 star item. I packed two sets so I could have a new straw every day, washing the silicone straws at home. Those straws absolutely are compatible with these mugs. The straw colors go with the mug colors.Pro tip -- if you get the straws, here's what you should do.1.) Get a drink.2.) Put the mug lid on.3.) Put the straw in.4.) Squish the straw down and seal the drink.5.) When you next open the drink, the straw will be easy to pop out and use. This is an easy way to handle the issue of a straw if you need to seal a drink that requires the use of a straw. These mugs absolutely kept our beverages cold and sealed. I made my boyfriend carry our mugs while we did a twenty minute walk and they didn't drip at all during the walk, even though he held the mugs so that the lid was perpendicular with the ground. The drinks remained cold through that walk, as if they'd been freshly poured. These mugs are a little hefty, but they saved us tons of trips back and forth between the bar and...well, every other place. The colors remind me of the 80s, or maybe a 90s ski jacket. We didn't mix our mugs up with anyone else's at the resort. Other folks had Swell bottles, Starbucks cups, and other popular brands -- which I'm sure are great. But, having a colorful mug that wasn't all black, all aluminum, or in a generic shape meant we never had issues with someone grabbing our mug on accident, or vice versa.Advice -- when you wash them for the first time, remember to take out the washer-ring-seal-thing and wash that too. Do that ever so often. This is not a problem specific to the Bubba. It's just the nature of the beast. You'll be surprised how grody it can get. These mugs are dishwasher safe and show no signs of discoloration from the dishwasher or my vacation. They didn't get dented from travel. No parts broke off. If I ever die -- if -- I want my ashes put in my Bubba mug and shot into space, because these things are insanely cool.

Finally, a reliable mug!
I purchased two of these kegs for $11.99 each. They're larger in person than they look in photos which I was pleased with. Measures 14" around in the middle, excluding the handle. There's a small hole under the lid along with the drinking spout. Liquid can leak through that hole if tilted. The label mentions that the mug can build pressure with hot liquids, so I'm assuming that's what the hole is there for. I don't intend to use it with hot beverages, therefore, I intend to seal the pressure release hole with food-grade silicone so I can carry the keg like a briefcase instead of upright, for comfort. The spout hole (which is rounded oval) seals very tightly and won't leak - it's also large enough to comfortably top up the keg with more beverage right into without unscrewing the lid. 10" straws fit well, also. To get the lid spout to align perfectly for right-hand use, I set the lid on the keg with the flip cover exactly opposite the handle then screw on and it lands perfectly over the lion decal/sticker - the decals are 3", waterproof and fit perfectly in the middle section for a nice touch of customization. I freeze bottled water and cut a chunk off when needed to add to the keg. My bedroom is west facing and takes on heat, so the ice doesn't last nearly 24 hours nor does the beverage stay cold as long but I obviously know the reason for that. Still stays cold for as long as I need it to during the moonlight hours. I tested without ice. Two bottles of water with flavor packets sat on the kitchen table and held cold for the 4-5 hours I was able to check on it before filling with cold brew coffee which I took to a gathering. This will definitely hold cold in any moderate temps. Not so much in warmer areas. I also feel as though the drink isn't as cold when drinking from the spout which is plastic and is always at room temp since it's on the outside. . Something about a straw makes it feel colder, but if you give the keg a little swishing to move the ice around you can achieve a little more chill when you're about to drink. Overall, I'm very pleased with this product in the 4 days I've had them.

I have tried other mugs, and this keg is the best o have found!
I absolutley love my Bubba mug. I now own 2 of them, so that when I need to wash one, I still have one to use. I bought my daughter 2 of them also, and she absolutely loves hers too. Here's is the same mug, just a different color. I take my Bibba mug with me everywhere I go. It keeps my drinks cold, and my drink doesnt water down until about 4 hrs later, it does a little bit. The ice lasts a long time in the keg..if you fill it with ice, it will last about 6 to 8 hours or more. I love the 34 oz size, it's just right for the amount of drink and ice I want to use at a time. When filling your ice and drink, I recommend that you do not take the fluid level up where the lid screws onto the keg, I would keep it below that level. With my first keg, I filled it up where it was on the ridges, and my drink got into a small line on the gasket and it molded. It was in an area where you couldn't clean it out, soaking in bleach couldn't clean it where it was either. Bubba company told me they do not have replacement parts for their mugs. I tried a different gasket, it fit the keg, but was not made right for this keg, so it leaked, and it sealed in a way that we liked to have never gotten the lid back off. So I threw that one away and purchased me a new one. So I decided to not fill my drink up in the ridges, but keep it below that area and now I do not have the problem that I had with the first one, and I have been using this keg for 6 months now. So for me..it was a lesson learned. This keg does not fit in the drink holders of most cars/trucks, but my husband is great at solving problems, he made a holder that works great in our vehicles.
