Excellent external hard drive with outstanding build quality. The G-DRIVE ArmorATD feels extremely solid and durable, giving real confidence that it can handle travel, daily use, and the occasional knock without worry. The 2TB capacity is great for backing up photos, videos, and important files, while transfer speeds are very good for a portable HDD. The USB-C connection is a nice modern touch and makes setup quick and easy. What really stands out is the rugged design and premium feel — it feels like a product built to last. If you need reliable portable storage with strong protection and excellent quality, I’d highly recommend this drive.

Nice slim power bank that snaps on easily and charges fast. Super convenient at work, but it gets warm and usually stops around 80%. Still solid for quick boosts!

Bought two to mirror in case one fails. Both fail simultaneously due to read-head errors. Planned obsolescence? Do not buy unless you want to use it for 4 months and immediately replace it.

After experiencing unexpected failures over the years with both LaCie Rugged HDD and Samsung Shield SSD, the GDrive RTX has been a refreshing change. It runs quietly, stays cool under load, and has proven to be rock-solid reliable with heavy use. Unlike other so-called “rugged” drives, this one has never faulted me once. If you care about long-term data stability and peace of mind, this is the one to get.

I decided to go for this professional external hard drive as I wanted a secure drive to back up all my photos. The only minor issue was my computer would not automatically allocate a letter to the drive. Fortunately a friend knew how to solve it. All went well after that.

Fast drive, works across multiple platforms, quick file transfer and rugged design is great for my environment

The drive itself is well built and sturdy. Copying, backing up and access seem to be quick through the USB C port. Major problem is that it frequently disconnects without any warning, losing any data/work in the process. Occasionally I have opened the drive to find most of the folders missing, and a disconnect/reboot brings them back - very annoying. Used to expect this back in the day of 20gb hard drives - but not in this day and age. I won't be buying another G-Drive - very disappointed.

Originally I was going to purchase this item on the Apple Store as it told me that it was compatible with my Mac Mini but they were out of stock. However it was available on Amazon so I ordered it and it arrived a day earlier than expected. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to set up. Once connected via the thunderbolt cable provided I turned on the Mac and it automatically recognised the new drive and also started Time Machine backup utility without me having to take any action myself. I am given to understand that for Windows users it is necessary to reformat the drive to make it usable. The drive does come with a usb cable as well as the thunderbolt cable for connecting to non apple devices.

Es un disco HDD bastante robusto. Da aspecto de resistente y obviamente no voy a probar si resiste o no caídas aunque refiere que lo hace hasta de 3 metros con lo que difícilmente se te pueda caer desde más altura de forma accidental y bajo un uso normal. Es pesado pero dentro de lo aceptable (372 g) y en los test de velocidad no tengo queja , cumple sobradamente con lo prometido tanto con el Thunderbolt como con el USB-C (obviamente los dos con más capacidad que la del disco) . En resumen Un disco con velocidad estable, por encima de los 130 Mb/s que promete . Que incluye dos cables (Usb C y USB A ) de 10 Gb . Obviamente la velocidad no es nada del otro mundo , pero un disco duro "normalito" suele rondar los 90-100 Mb/s por lo que dentro de la gama es de lo mejorcito. Si buscas mayores velocidades tendrás que buscar un SSD con USB C (hasta 20 Gbps unos 2500 Mb/s , pero que normalmente se quedan en 10 Gbps o hasta 14 Gbps en Thunderbolt) o un SSD con Thunderbolt 4 que sí llega hasta los 50 Gbps (6250 MB/s) Como referencia dejo lecturas de un SSD buenecito para que se entienda que es otro mundo. En resumen: - Disco duro ideal para almacenar fotos o información tiempo. - A efectos prácticos para almacenar no merece la pena comprar nada más caro , pero si gastar un 10-20% más en tener algo fiable , protegido del polvo , agua y golpes. Ten en cuenta que para el día a día , con 1 Tb rápido vas sobradísimo y además pesan nada , el resto lo puedes almacenar temporalmente en discos de capacidad pequeña o desde mi punto de vista mejor en 4-5 Tb que además te permiten hacer dos particiones y copiar de una a otra periódicamente Resumen sobre tipos de disco - duración - velocidad ( Guía de compra según necesidades ) - HDD - 300.000 horas (34 años de uso) - L/S sobre 100 Mb/s / hasta 175 Mb/s serie pro - SSD - 1 millón de horas (114 años) - L/S sobre 250 Mb/s / hasta 540 Mb/s gama pro - NVMe PCIe Gen 3x4 (3000-3500 Mb/s) - NVMe PCIe Gen 4x4 (7000-7500 Mb/s) Obviamente un NVMe que supere los 5000 Mb/s como externo no se va a aprovechar porque la velocidad viene limitada por las caracteristicas actuales del Thunderbolt / USB 4

Well made and good value for price. However it is still an old fashioned spinning disc drive and therefore quite slow compared to more modern drives.
