I gave this product to help my wife get out of the pool, and it works perfectly. Now the steps are not too high for her, and we can enjoy the pool more.

Ok the positive is that the step works but is very clumsy & slightly heavy for this senior citizen. The negative is that no matter how much your tighten the screws , they immediately loosen up & the cane/handle spins around . Its very awkward to use, but you could get used to it i am sure , but to me its a tripping hazard waiting to happen. Its a great concept & I purchased it to avoid the expense of having a ramp installed, but may have to end up going that way. I wouldnt suggest this to you if you have severe balance problems.

This product gave me back the ability to climb the stairs in my house! The half step/cane is brilliant!

This cane now allows me to go downstairs after living upstairs for months. It is easy to use and works wonders.

I purchase this for my mother because she has issues going up my stairs.And I thought purchasing this with a 1/2 step would make it easier for her.I tried it out and Thought it would work however, it was very cumbersome for her to use going up the stairs. She also wanted to place both her feet on the step and both of her feet could not fit on the step because of the width of her thighs. I believe it gave my mom a little bit of help.But not enough for me to keep the product. I thought the product was well made. Make sure you tighten the screws well. I changed the handle direction depending on if she was going up-or-down the stairs due to my homes railing. I think it would be hard to work in small places. I have to admit we tried it for a few days, then she was done with it.

This is a controversial item because it is a stair cane. It did not work as expected And turned out to be safe to use going down and up the stairs.

Only bought it because my 75yo mom (5'3 and 140lbs) has really bad knees and I cannot install a ramp where we're at. I feel it's definitely overpriced though. It doesn't feel super sturdy,n she sometimes has difficulty making sure her feet are positioned correctly for using it but it does the job and helps her, especially on her bad days.
