Perfect remote for seniors with cognitive or eyesight issues
We bought this for my wife's mother who is in early stages of dementia and gets easily confused. The Spectrum set top box remote has about 800 buttons on it (ok, probably more like 50), but they're all very small and most aren't needed for daily viewing. This remote was perfect. It has just the volume, channel, and power buttons, and it was programmable to her TV (TCL with Roku built in) and her Spectrum set top box. There was even an option to have the power button only turn off the TV rather than both the TV and the set top box, which is a nice feature, since turning off both can cause the infamous "sync" issue if they move the remote during the power-on/off sequence for multiple devices. The only nit I had was in the programming. I tried all the codes for the TCL/Roku TV and none worked initially. Later I discovered that after putting it in programming mode, I was pressing the 4 code digits too quickly in sequence. I had to wait until each one made the light blink. Once I slowed down and paused for a second between each number press, the code worked properly.I set it up so the volume button works with the TV and the channel button works with the set top box. It's going to be great for her since she has historically had difficulty with her TV remote due to her easy confusion and her degrading eyesight. The designer(s) did a great job with this -- hiding the keypad so it's out of sight for programming only, and keeping only the basic buttons visible. Also, the volume and channel buttons being different colors just adds to the ease of remembering which color goes with which function, especially as eyesight fades. The instructions were also clear and well written, which is uncommon these days. I also saw a video demonstrating how to program it, and it was concise and easy to follow. This is the kind of device I would design if I wanted to create my own custom remote for someone with my mother-in-law's condition. Thank you for creating it.The price is a bit higher than some other "senior" remotes on Amazon, but the others had extraneous buttons and didn't appear to be as easy to program for multiple devices, or used the same color for all the buttons. Or the buttons were smaller and closer together, making it easier to mis-press. I think this is the "best-of-breed" in this arena, and so I decided to pay the premium price as I was confident it would "just work" the way I expected it to... and it did. I would highly recommend spending the few extra dollars to get this remote over less expensive knock offs. You do get what you pay for in this case, and it's worth it.

Simple
Very happy with this thing. A little tedious to program channels, but no big deal. Elderly mom able to hit her 10 or so favorite channels and never see's all the other confusing junk. All the unneeded other buttons on a typical remote are gone.

Worked great for TV and Cable Box
I was skeptically optimistic when I ordered this. I'm beyond please with it. I was able to set it up for a Motorola cable box and a sharp TV in very little time. The included instructions were clear and useful. my 91 year old aunt with late stage macular degeneration was able to turn the TV on by herself and flip through the channels we added for her. Highly recommend this.

Flipper 5 stars, Amazon 1 star
This Flipper remote is awesome! My husband has an illness that causes confusion. He can use this remote with ease. It was easy to set up. You can use it with satellite services, cable tv, etc. I can set the channel list on my Hopper and this remote will use just the channels that are on the channel list that I choose through my Dish remote. I can still use my Dish remote as usual or let him control the channels with the Flipper. It's well worth the money. My only complaint it with Amazon. I paid $10.-- extra to get the remote by the next day. It came 2 days late. This is the second time they've done this in the last 3 weeks. I give the remote 5 stars and Amazon 1

Great for older users
Great for older people. I say this as a caregiverMy mom used to,always press buttons she shouldn’t. She can’t see well. This remote hides the buttons they could fiddle with. We taped ours shut.Only 3 buttons. On/Off. Channel up/down. Volume up/ down. The colors are bright.

93-year-old channel surfer is happy!
I bought this for my 93-year-old mother with memory issues. We purchased her a brand-new smart TV. I’m not very tech-savvy or good at reading manuals. Customer support is highly recommended; they solved a lot of frustration by ensuring that the remote worked perfectly for my Mom’s needs. She constantly changes sources for television input. Now, she can channel surf and control the volume, and she says she is as happy and content as she can be! Excellent product, excellent customer service.

great concept/your loved ones mileage may vary.
over last several years, my mothers dementia has become quite obvious. she had directv for years. and, as everyone knows, the remote has 100 buttons. that, in combination with the signal going in/out and the technicians not wanting to come out.. i had enough and bought at OTA antenna. saved her over 100.00 monthly.remote was super easy to program, had it figured out in less than 10 minutes.. was hoping this would assist her and make it easier for her to use, and in theory, would Decrease anxiety/confusion and frustration.apparently she gets this remote, and the remote for her lift chair confused. doesn't understand how the volume button works, and turns it up to 100. then will just start pushing buttons and getting frustrated.i have even labeled each remote TV and other one Chair. doesn't seem to have worked well at all.if your loved one has dementia, start with this remote at the VERY FIRST sign of symptoms, if you start early you may have better luck than i did. i think she is just simply too far gone to have the capacity to learn anything new, regardless of how simple it is. but for now, she seems ok with it, so i'm going to keep it. good luck to all of you!

Easy set up/synch and works fine. A few QC quibbles-typical for a MADE IN CHINA item.
Remote was pretty easy to set up/synch with my mom's Samsung TV and Cable Box and most importantly--WORKED! A few nitpicks. I-it's made in China, so who knows how long it will last. 2-it comes without batteries. Considering the relatively higher price tag for this remote, that seemed pretty chintzy. 3-the back cover for batteries had a screw hole to help hold it in place--but didn't come with the screw! Fortunately, it snapped on and stayed without it, but come on. Where's the QC?
