ESEE marks the blades with the serial number. Unfortunately with no serial number on the box, the knife would have to be removed from the manufacturer’s packaging to determine the serial number.

Whats a good after market sheath for this knife?

For Kydex I would go with armatus carry. Great stuff and good guys.

Is there a non-damaging way to remove the black coating?

you can remove the coating with Citri-Strip (not as toxic, but takes about 2 days of soaking) or use an epoxy finish remover but that stuff is nasty... be sure to remove the micarta first of course.

Has esse changed the sheath design for the camp lore series? i want the old logo with the camper.

Mine did not have a logo. There are other after market sheaths out there. Just an FYI.
