This is a great product. I previously had quite a bit of brain fog. I take it every day. I can tell the difference if I forget a dose. It tastes great and it has benefitted me. I definitely recommend this product.

I absolutely feel the difference when I'm taking it, thoughts are clearer and recall is much easier.

Lion's Mane Mushroom supplements have gained significant popularity in the wellness community due to their potential cognitive and neurological benefits. Derived from the Hericium erinaceus mushroom, Lion's Mane has been traditionally used in Eastern medicine, particularly in Chinese and Japanese cultures. Today, it is available in various forms, including capsules, powders, tinctures, and even as part of multivitamin complexes. Below is a detailed review of Lion's Mane Mushroom supplements, covering their benefits, scientific backing, potential side effects, and considerations when purchasing. Overview and Key Ingredients Lion's Mane Mushroom is primarily known for its two key bioactive compounds: hericenones and erinacines. These compounds are believed to stimulate the production of Nerve Growth Factor (NGF), a protein essential for the maintenance, growth, and survival of neurons. This link to NGF production is at the core of Lion's Mane's reputation as a powerful nootropic and neuroprotective agent. Typically, high-quality supplements use organic and sustainably sourced mushrooms, often ensuring that they are free from pesticides, fillers, or artificial additives. Depending on the brand, Lion's Mane supplements may also be combined with other natural ingredients to enhance the cognitive or overall health benefits. Potential Benefits 1. Cognitive Enhancement & Memory Improvement One of the most notable claims surrounding Lion's Mane is its ability to enhance cognitive functions, particularly memory, focus, and mental clarity. Studies suggest that by promoting NGF, Lion's Mane may help protect and regenerate brain cells, thus improving cognitive performance. Users often report heightened mental sharpness, reduced brain fog, and an enhanced ability to concentrate after consistent use. Scientific Backing: In animal studies, Lion's Mane has shown promise in promoting neuron growth and improving memory performance, particularly in models of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Although human trials are more limited, a small-scale clinical trial indicated improvements in cognitive function in older adults with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) after 16 weeks of supplementation. 2. Neuroprotective Effects Lion's Mane is widely marketed as a supplement that can protect the brain from neurodegenerative diseases. Its ability to stimulate NGF may not only enhance cognitive function but also offer protection against age-related cognitive decline. In certain studies, the mushroom has demonstrated potential in slowing the progression of conditions like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. Scientific Backing: Research has suggested that Lion's Mane may reduce the formation of amyloid plaques, which are associated with Alzheimer's disease. Moreover, its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties might mitigate some of the oxidative stress that contributes to neurodegenerative conditions. 3. Mood and Mental Health Support Emerging evidence suggests that Lion's Mane may play a role in reducing anxiety and depression. The mushroom's influence on neurogenesis could also enhance overall emotional well-being by supporting brain health and balancing neurotransmitter levels. Scientific Backing: A 2010 study conducted in Japan revealed that women who consumed Lion's Mane supplements over four weeks reported lower levels of anxiety and irritability compared to the placebo group. This was attributed to the mushroom’s ability to regulate the central nervous system and reduce inflammatory markers. 4. Anti-Inflammatory and Antioxidant Properties Like many medicinal mushrooms, Lion's Mane is rich in antioxidants and has notable anti-inflammatory effects. This can support overall immune function and protect against cellular damage, which may reduce the risk of chronic diseases like heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. Scientific Backing: Lion's Mane has been shown to reduce markers of inflammation in animal studies, including cytokines that play a role in inflammation-related conditions such as arthritis. Its antioxidant properties also help to neutralize free radicals, preventing oxidative stress and promoting better cellular health. 5. Digestive Health While less frequently discussed, Lion's Mane has also been used traditionally to support digestive health. It is believed to promote the growth of beneficial gut bacteria, which can improve digestion and overall gastrointestinal function. Scientific Backing: Preliminary research in rodents has shown that Lion's Mane may help protect against stomach ulcers and other gastrointestinal issues by inhibiting the growth of harmful bacteria like Helicobacter pylori. Supplement Form and Dosage Lion’s Mane supplements are available in various forms, each offering its own convenience and absorption rate: Capsules/Tablets: These are the most common forms and are generally convenient for daily dosing. Look for products with clearly marked dosages, typically ranging from 500 mg to 1500 mg per serving. Powder: This form is often preferred by those who wish to mix it into smoothies, teas, or other beverages. It's also useful for flexible dosing. Tinctures: These liquid extracts offer faster absorption compared to capsules, though the taste may be off-putting for some. Tinctures often come in alcohol or water-based solutions. Quality Considerations Not all Lion’s Mane supplements are created equal, and several factors determine their effectiveness: 1. Extract vs. Whole Mushroom: Look for supplements that use the fruiting body of the mushroom, as this part contains the highest concentration of beneficial compounds like hericenones and erinacines. Some products may use the mycelium (the root structure), which can be less potent. 2. Beta-Glucan Content: Beta-glucans are polysaccharides with immune-boosting properties found in mushrooms. Ensure the supplement specifies its beta-glucan content, as this is a marker of potency. 3. Organic and Non-GMO: Organic supplements are preferable as mushrooms tend to absorb toxins from their growing environment. Choosing an organic, non-GMO product ensures that your supplement is free from pesticides, heavy metals, and other harmful chemicals. 4. Third-Party Testing: Choose brands that conduct third-party testing for purity, potency, and safety. This ensures that the product is free from contaminants and that it contains the claimed amounts of active ingredients. Potential Side Effects Lion’s Mane is generally considered safe for most individuals, with few reported side effects. However, some users may experience mild gastrointestinal discomfort, allergic reactions, or skin irritation. Individuals with mushroom allergies should avoid this supplement. ** Drug Interactions: There is limited data on Lion's Mane interactions with medications. Those on blood thinners or diabetes medication should consult a healthcare professional before starting supplementation, as Lion’s Mane could theoretically affect blood sugar levels or clotting. ** Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: There is insufficient research on the safety of Lion’s Mane during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It’s best to consult a doctor before using it in these conditions. Pros and Cons Pros: ** May enhance memory, focus, and mental clarity. ** Potential to slow cognitive decline and protect against neurodegenerative diseases. ** Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits support overall health. ** Could help with anxiety and depression. ** Multiple forms available (capsules, powder, tinctures) for versatility. Cons: ** Limited large-scale human studies. ** Potential for mild side effects like gastrointestinal discomfort. ** Quality and potency vary greatly between brands. Conclusion Lion's Mane Mushroom supplements offer promising cognitive and neurological benefits, supported by both traditional use and emerging scientific research. They are an attractive option for individuals looking to enhance mental clarity, protect against neurodegenerative conditions, and support overall brain health. However, due to the variability in product quality and the need for more extensive human studies, it’s crucial to choose a reputable brand with transparent ingredient sourcing and third-party testing. If you're considering incorporating Lion's Mane into your daily routine, it's wise to consult with a healthcare provider, especially if you have underlying health conditions or are on medication.

I have had a few memory problems in the last few years and have thought, like most people I think, that there was nothing I could do about it. Because of a podcast of someone I have come to respect and their discussion of lions mane mushroom tincture possible aid to memory and nerve regeneration I decided to give it a try. I have been taking it daily for 1 month now and I have seen results that I am very happy with! The memory part that convinced me was a couple things; I could not remember the name of a store that I love, the other was the name of a local diner. For each every time I spoke about them I would have to ask someone what the name of the place was. Well, after one week of taking 1 dose per day when I wanted to name the store the name came to me! I was stunned and thought well maybe the name of the diner would also come to me and it did! I can still recall them now whenever I want to. Another thing is sleep. I used to sleep so well at night and did not appreciate it at all! For the last, at least 10 years my sleep has rarely been good-well, I have been sleeping so much better. Last night I slept from about 9 to 4:30 this morning! The last thing is I am a type 2 diabetic and want to use supplements to control blood sugar levels. Berberine worked great for me but after taking for a few days I became so ill from it that I had to stop. I then tried Dehydroberberine which is supposed to be easier on digestion but it also made me ill. Lions Mane is also suggested to help gut health and I thought just maybe it would make it possible for me to try the Dehydroberberine again. I have been on that again for about 2 weeks and so far so good. This has been a long review but I wanted to say all I had experienced in case it's helpful to someone. i know much depends on our own personal makeup as to what will work and won't but this seems to be working for me!

This product came in a protected glass container. I have been taking other brands for several months to counteract results of 4 chemo treatments that ended on 10/28/24. This one seems to be working as I'm finding myself struggling less to remember less often. I am taking 5 or 6 half droppers-full because I can't get a full dropper, and add a little bottled water between my 2 morning cups of black coffee. I'll be making another order soon.

I've always been an academic and socialite. The issue was that I could never execute my learned knowledge in social situations. I would be very sociable but mostly topical and not engage in subjects I knew I had a deep understanding of solely because my memory for specific details and language recall, also known as diction, was subpar in person. I was an excellent writer but a subpar curator. I've taken Lion's Mane in the past and swear by it. In this brand, I have noticed a massive increase in my memory and confidence in my abilities to execute in real-time on my prior studies. Memories are long forgotten to feel like yesterday. Plus, the flavour is nearly enjoyable compared to other extracts' chemical or dirt tastes. I've had good luck with the NOW brand as well in the past, but my last two orders of theirs seemed to do nothing. The environment may have damaged them in shipping, but this being a liquid extract versus solid may help this brand withstand the rigours of shipping better. This is my new go-to, and I highly recommend those who know they can do better.

This is an excellent product and brand. Great price point too

The company gave me a full refund- for this reason I changed my star rating from 1 star to 3 stars, because they do stand behind their product and want the consumer to be happy.- My original review is below... Was told by a friend in the gym, "this will change your life for the better." They claimed their memory is now better than before, after a few weeks of taking it daily. I didn't have a lot of high expectations, but thought, even if it helps a little it is worth it. I have been taking it consistently every day for a few weeks, and have found NO noticeable improvements in my focus and/or cognition. The supplement has not hurt me. I checked the manufacturing for any seafood or iodine additives (I'm allergic) and it has none. It doesn't have any real odor or taste, and have taken the tincture in plain water. Some of the reviews have claimed it has helped them, but for me, there are NO positive or negative effects.

Great product, it helps me sleep. I bought another capsule-based version from Plant Vital, which had a higher dosage and gave me a weird headache. This did not give me that feeling, but this product made me feel sleepy the next day too. Update: I tried another product of lion's mane, which was slightly cheaper and, then I came back to this product, because this tincture is more potent and works really well. This will be the only product I will be buying from here onwards. I no longer feel sleepy the next day.

I love how tasty product is. I’m looking forward to seeing its effectiveness.

I tried this on a whim, after a friend mentioned that Lions Mane was good for brain fog. I received it Saturday afternoon, so I took 1 ml in an 8 oz glass of water that evening. Then Sunday I switched to 1ml under my tongue (no water) in the morning and evening. Sunday night I had my best solid sleep in years and Monday morning, I felt like I was 20 yrs younger! Working on Sudoku's was EASY! It's been a few weeks now and I have not felt the least bit sluggish or any brain fog!!!

There is no way you can tell how much you take with this dropper. Company has to do better to verify the actual amount customers take daily.

Delicious Nice flavor Not upsetting
