This is a fantastic leash! It really checks all the boxes. First of all, it's an attractive product. I purchased the "black" leash, and it is very sleek with silver detailing. It makes me feel like I'm a fashionable New Yorker walking my equally as fashion conscious and classy hound. This color would also match with a lot of collars which is nice. The construction of the leash is impressive as well. The leather is thick and hardy, and the clip is very strong and sturdy. This definitely feels like it will last a long time. Especially for my dog, who tends to lag behind on walks rather than dragging me behind her. Although the leather is nice and thick, it's also very soft and flexible. It bends just as a leash should. This is a very short leash (5 ft.) and while that might be a negative for some people, it's definitely a positive for me. My dog's slow. She doesn't need 6-10 foot leashes, and I usually have a hard time finding a short enough leash for her. Overall, this product has been great, and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable leather leash. I was a little upset when I received the product because I had actually been trying to get the brown leash.They had previously been labeling their colors as "Dark Brown", "Brown", and something like "Tan" for the lightest color. I didn't look at the name of the other products and clicked dark brown, because that made sense to me. The leash I received was not dark brown, it was black. They had been calling black "dark brown". -.- The way they had that set up before was very misleading, but luckily, they've changed the labeling for their product and it doesn't look like there will be any misunderstandings in the future. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

When I got it and saw it, it is wider than I really wanted it, but I decided to take a good look and feel the leather. To my surprise it is very soft and strong at the same time so I definitely keeping it. I'm glad I did.

I got this leash as a replacement for a leather leash a friend gave me that one of my dogs chewed up! I am really impressed with this leash! It has held up through 2 puppies and I use it regularly for training and walking my 2 adult Bernese Mountain Dogs. Its very lightweight but is really durable. It took a little while for it to “break in” but now that its fully broken in its one of my favorite leashes by far. Its the first one I grab when I don’t want a hands-free leash. The price for this leash is amazing, the size is perfect, and the clasp is sturdy but easy to use and doesnt hurt my hands. I really like this dog leash, at 5 feet it is the perfect length for my 11.6lb Chiweenie puppy. It appears to be well made, and so far seems very durable. The Mighty Paw brand seems to make some great stuff, as I have the collar that matches this leash as well. I wouldn't necessarily say the leather is distressed, but It doesn't look new either. For me leather that's distressed would appear faded and worn, which this it not. Either way it is still nice, I like the silver hardware that it has. Overall I think it's the perfect leash for my dog, he and I both really like it. I would recommend this leash if you looking for something simple, yet durable and sturdy that's actually made out of real leather.

First I bought a black one for our Scottish Terrier pup for use at home. Liked it so much I bought another for the car and office. Got drunk and left the car one at my mother in law’s house (I wasn’t driving). Just bought a third to replace the misplaced one. They feel very nice in hand and even more so after hitting them with a little leather conditioner. After about nine months of daily use the first one is actually better than new because it’s broken in and even better to use now. Have seen complaints of funky smells but did not experience any untoward aromas. If I had to come up with a complaint, the leash did have a bit of a bend in it out of the package that took a little longer to work out than I thought it would, but it in no way affected the comfort or performance. Buy? Yes!

This is a great leash. Paired with a front-lead harness, I have full comfortable control over Bruin - my 8 month old, 80lb (and growing) German Shepherd. That in itself is a reason to celebrate. No being dragged around and no painful squished hands like with nylon. What I cannot control, however, is my dog's feverish desire to leash-chew. I am a dummy and have left him unattended with the leash on (during a car ride for example) and he has eaten through two of these. Sigh. I have tried a chain leash and can't stand it. Leather is the way to go especially with big strong dogs. I guess I will be buying my third leash! Hopefully I have learned my lesson to not give Big Boy Bru any alone time with this thing. Insert eye rolling emoji and face palm emoji.

I've been looking for something to match my 9lb Savannah cat's black leather harness. There are very few leather products for cats but this is perfect. It's thin and very playable but really nice quality leather. The "light" size is ideal- feels strong and substantial without being too bulky and disproportionate. I wouldn't use it as a primary walking leash (the retractable ones allow for more distance) but it's great for style factor or for specific situations where a short leash is preferred (going to the vet, air travel, introduction to other animals). Only thing negative I noticed is that the unfinished edges are giving off a black dust/crumbs. I think that's typical because it's real leather and might improve with use. Just don't do what I did, which is open it on your white sofa. TL;DR- very chic, good quality, appropriately sized for xs/toy dogs and cats.

Have had it for 4+ years and it works exceptionally well. Right amount of tension, good length for my 65lb golden retriever. Aged very well. Great quality product - everything about it has lasted.

Schöne, schlichte Leine. Sehr angenehmes weiches Handling. Gewicht ok für mittelgroßen Hund. Länge ausreichend. Macht einen langlebigen Eindruck (bei mir allerdings erst 2 Monate in Gebrauch). Ich hatte mehrere verschiedene Leinen, unterschiedlicher Anbieter, zur Auswahl bestellt und habe mich für diese entschieden.

I bought this with the matching leather collar for my puppy. I'm really happy with the quality and look of the product. Good value on sale for $15. The hardware seems sturdy. I'm hoping the natural leather will wear better than my previous synthetic leashes.
