Georgia Atlas & Gazetteer

We ride in a HOG group and we ride mainly on the back roads for safety reasons. These maps show the back roads. We get to see a lot of very nice country side. The people and especially the children get excited to see us ride by their houses. They all wave as we pass by.

Very detailed in a format easy to access. These types of map books are essential when traveling as electronic GPS gadgets and iPhones aren’t always available for use.

Makes it easier to see sections of a state that cannot be seen using a one page atlas picture. I travel all over my state and find it immensely useful. Good detail.

These gazetteer's offer a level of detail in between that of state travel maps and that of detailed county/city maps. They also include topography. They are handy for those traveling to various counties but who lack more detailed maps for each. They won't help much in the city proper, but are useful for finding one's way to various paved county roads. The drawback is that few county roads are labelled with their names on the maps (scale would need to be different for that.)

DeLorme maps are simply the best. We used this to find a road to a good, short path to reach the start of the A.T. on Springer Mountain. I regard DeLorme maps as an essential tool whenever I go into the backroads of a state.

My sisters and I like to ride dirt roads here in S.GA. and find interesting houses. My husband has used a gazeteer for years while hunting, so he told me to get one. Never get lost again, and find a back way to everywhere.

Love these maps for getting to know a new area. Especially if you hunt, fish or camp. What I did not love was the guaranteed delivery date that did not happen. The package showed up the day AFTER I left on my trip....

I like the page format of maps that I don't have to worry about folding up like traditional maps. I find this absolutely necessary for driving through Georgia where GPS or 4g signals are often lost.
