The Harness Lead is just what weāve been looking for
The Harness Lead is just what weāve been looking for.Our 1 year old Large Munsterlander (German Gun dog) walks great on a lead most of the time, however the first walk of the day is a different story. We live close to fields and a lot of wildlife and in the morning he can smell the foxes etc and he pulls like crazy. Itās only a small walk to where we let him off the lead however heās extremely strong and itās exhausting. In the past, weāve purchased so many leads/harnesses/head collars etc to combat this issue that weāve lost count. The head collars and figure of 8ās worked great, but our boy hates them. Normal Harnesses just gave him the ability to pull even more from his chest. As heās a gun dog, we wanted something that could not snag when heās running around. Ideally, we needed a product easy to put on and more importantly take off when we let him off the lead. Also we did not want something too restricting. We needed a practical solution that work for us and our boy. After a lengthy search of the web, eventually I stumbled on the Harness Lead which seemed to be what we needed. The difference it has made to the early morning walk is unbelievable. Heās stopped pulling and heās so much calmer. Heās actually learning himself how to walk nice. Heās quickly realised if he walks by our side the lead is slack, if he does gets a bit in front, the lead tightens slightly around his chest but slackens again when he reverts back.Weāre so please with this purchase, this lead really works for us and our excitable young boy.Itās not cheap though, however there is a video on YouTube that shows you how to turn a normal slip lead into a harness. Just in case your dog does not like this kind of restraint on his chest, it may be worth trying the slip lead method first before parting with your hard-earned money. We ordered the small/medium size as we prefer our boy to walk to heel. Itās still fairly long though, about 4ft from his back so we do have to wrap it around our hands. If you have a really large dog or you donāt mind your dog being a long way in front, youād probably be best ordering the Medium/LargeThe quality of the Harness Lead is spot onWe were slightly worried about purchasing the Small to Medium size in case it was not strong enough to hold our big lad. But it's really well made, and not too thin. Itās about the same thickness as an average slip lead that you would purchase in a pet shop.

This lead really has saved my dog's life
I have a very slippery lurcher who can get out of any - yes any - harness. I nearly lost her a couple of times and was scared she would get killed. Then I discovered the Harness Lead. I had to order from the US as nowhere here sells them, but had some great correspondence with the lady who owns the company. I was also worried about the rope on my dog's thin lurcher skin, but she promised it would be fine. It was. The lead is tough, but soft on the skin and there is no way she can get out of it as it works in both directions. Brilliant. This one was bought as a spare through Amazon.

Dog will now willingly go on a walk
This is the 2nd of these leads that I have bought after seeing them recommended on a labrador forum. First one I bought from America as I couldn't find a stockist in the UK, so pleased to find that Amazon now sell them. Only bought one from America as it was expensive and I wanted to see if it worked before investing in two.We got 2 young labradors from a rescue centre and the first time we tried to take them for a walk we realised/presumed that they had never been walked on a lead before. We bought Halti harnesses for them both. The Halti didn't work for one dog, and we thought it had worked for the other as it was easier to walk her. I bought the first Harness Lead for the dog that the Halti didn't work for, and it changed our walking experience - she still pulls, but is more controlable. We thought that the Halti was working for the other dog, but as time went on she was refusing to go on walks. It got so bad that last week my husband just left her at home and only took "my" dog. This week, I thought I'd try my dogs Harness Lead on her and she was like a different dog - she trotted along beside us and seemed really happy. I then did a search to see if there was a UK supplier of the lead and found it on Amazon and ordered one so last night we were able to take both dogs out on Harness Leads and everyone was happy. Finally, after 11 months we had a walk with neither dog pulling or refusing to walk.A quick note on colours - I bought the turquoise lead for my dog as I like the colour of it, but for this 2nd lead I went for the red to match the other dogs collar and I hadn't paid much attention when I was ordering it, but it was a reflective lead which really helps it to stand out in the dark. We walk the dogs down country lanes with no street lighting, whilst we are wearing head torches, and the lead shone out in the light of our torches so I think it will be good for car drivers to spot. So I'd definitely recommend a reflective one for night-time walks.

Good with provisos.
This is a well made item, and it works. However, as my pup is quite long coated, it became difficult to take off him, so eventually I turned it into an ordinary slip collar instead. The biggest issue for myself involves the white reflective thread woven into the lead. It comes undone, is quite sharp and easily cut into my hands. I would buy it again, however, always wear gloves when using this lead.

I was absolutely amazed.
I have a two year old toy poodle who until now has had a conventional harness and lead. She has pulled and pulled, very often walking on her hind legs as she is pulling forward so very much. I didnāt want to get a Halti as I didnāt want anything strapped over her face. I read the reviews of this no-pull lead, thought itās worth a try, waited for it to be sent from the States to the U.K. Putting it on the first time we had to watch the video, still got a bit muddled but soon figured it out.It has transformed our walks. She no longer pulls, she might sometimes be at the full extent of the length but there is no pulling. She only weighs five kilos but it still fits her just fine. I thoroughly recommend these lead for all dogs that pull.
